Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming watchOS 7.1 update to public beta testers, two days after providing the beta to developers.

The ‌watchOS 7‌.1 update can be downloaded after installing the proper profile from Apple's Public Beta website. Once the profile is in place, the ‌‌‌‌watchOS 7.1‌‌‌‌ beta can be downloaded through the dedicated ‌Apple Watch‌ app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update.

To update to the new software, the ‌Apple Watch‌ needs to have 50 percent battery life, it must be placed on the charger, and it must be in range of the ‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌.

There were no new features discovered in the first two betas of watchOS 7.1, so we don't yet know what new additions may be included in the update. It likely focuses on under-the-hood improvements and bug fixes for issues that weren't able to be addressed in the initial ‌watchOS 7‌ release.

Today's update does re-enable blood oxygen monitoring and watch faces that were disabled in the prior beta update.

On my Series 6 this is running like an absolute dream so far. Blood Oxygen is working and all my complications and the Memoji watch face look great!

7.1 Beta 2 Public Beta is a mess. Don’t download on a Series 5 watch. This is the first Public Beta that I have had issues with. Already wishing for Beta 3. Avoid putting a MeMoji on your watch or it will cause constant resets of the watch. After removing the MeMoji watch face, the resets stopped. Tried a system reset, same issue after pairing again. It also messes up the Unlock My Mac option, which there is an online fix for that.

Fixed for me was the ability to unlock my Mac with my Apple Watch.
Also less resprings up to 50% less😅

This update did give me blood O2 capability with my series 6 Watch. My first reading was easy; a simple 15 second countdown.

One great thing about using a Watch, face I.D is not used for debit card payments. A useful feature during this COVID-19 pandemic and mask wearing.

Good! I hope it fixes battery drain. I have a Series 5 and wear it every day from about 7:00a to 10:00p and after a day even with a workout in it would be at 45-35%, now after installing WatchOS 7, I'm lucky if I don't have to stop and charge it during the day, or it won't make through a day with a workout, and goes to about 13% if I don't run a workout.

Hope it fixes my Series 6 from freezing every time you try getting the Memoji watch face.
