I’ve been running the public betas on my 11” iPad Pro. For me, it is a game changer. I am on the public betas, so 16.2 b1 for another day or two. It is much more stable than the releases before they pulled external display support in the 16.1 cycle, but that isn’t saying much. It is still a beta.I wonder how iPad OS behaves.
My son has an Ipad Air M1 and uses external monitor for school work.
Would anyone recommend to stay away from it due to some big issues?
He could really use the external display for his studies
For me, I am OK with how stable it is. Battery life seems reasonable and the OS is pretty much as stable as 16.1 for me when not using an external display. When using an external display, though, it definitely is glitchy. The mouse can behave unpredictably, the window manager just crashes sometimes, on-screen keyboard is glitchy, cursor placement has been odd in some apps, that sort of thing.
I have an Air at work that I will move to 16.2 B2 when I’ve tested it at home for a couple of days. It is getting closer to a stable release.
But overall, there‘s a reason these are still in beta. I haven’t seen software this rough out of Apple in at least a decade. I like it. They should do this more often and trust their users!
