I have been enjoying developer beta on iPad OS. Best upgrade for me is highlighted mail at top. The ones that need attention be it urgent or pending action from me or others. Writing tools are great for summary and key points.

It’s called RP!

Apple Intelligence Localization (iOS 18.1)

Apple Intelligence includes new localized versions of English in the second 18.1 beta. Options include Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Singapore, which are in addition to the previous U.S., UK, and Australia localization options.

Can someone explain this new feature in beta 2?

If I switch Siri to UK English, it prompts me to use US English. I read the release note, which states that it will now work with UK English.

Additionally, I’d like to revert my phone region to UK because my signal on EE is poor and frequently switches to “no service” before returning to 5G. I haven’t had enough time with beta 2 to determine if this issue has been resolved yet.

Opted in for iOS 18.0 beta 6, but Apple tried to push me to run iOS 18.1 beta 2. No thanks. I’m not interested in AI at all for at least 2-3 months, and I don’t use Siri. I prefer them improving on iOS 18 with later beta.
With that being said, I almost wanted to run iOS 18.1 beta 1 when markup tools on my phone refused to work.

Probably just beta limit for The time being. Once released in better capacity later, you can use UK English.
I’d revert the region back to UK if I were you, even though device region setting shouldn’t matter here or affecting signal strength.

I don't get this either. UK English wasn't available in B1 either so not sure what was localized.

Also, the signal dropout issue looks to be resolved (and was unrelated to regional setting).

Hey all

I think, this may relate to the Siri Responses language/accent. Whislt the iPhone Language & Region needs to be set to US as well as Siri Request Language, you can have Siri's responses in your local accent(s).

Does 18.1 have the same updates as whatever the recent 18.0 beta has (plus apple AI obvs) or only some?

Can anyone answer if it's stable enough to install on a MacBook Pro M2 Pro 14 inch?
I use it on my M4 13 inch IPP and sure there are bugs but its fairly stable that it does not stop me using my primary device (I use iPad Pro more than iPhone and macbook pros in my collection of apple devices). I think that it would be stable enough on my experiences so far

Thanks, that's helpful! I mainly use my Mac to surf the web, watch videos and am currently digitalizing a cookbook that my grandmother gave me so that I can more easily search for recipes 😜 I might install it to try out Apple Intelligence
