YOU'RE A FULLY FUNCTIONING ADULT, HOW DOES THE APP NOT MAKE SENSE? IT'S SIMPLE.
Wow, you need to relax. Let me try to explain this to you.

You know how the number 2 is larger than 1? So, if we're trying to find the largest number and we are given the number 1 and the number 2, which one is the one we're looking for? Number 2! Well done! Now why is this? This is because what we are looking for, a larger number, is found in the meaning of the number 2. Yes, the number 1 has a value and has a certain "largeness" to it, but the number 2 is even more so.

Similarly, when I look for a music app that makes sense, various apps can have a value of sensibility, but there's going to be one that makes the the MOST SENSE and best fulfills what you're looking for.

So, if you'd like to go re-read my comment that says it doesn't make AS MUCH sense, please be my guest. When you're done though please stop being my guest and leave, because I don't like people like you.

Does it sort out the unlock/rotation (i.e. over half the time touchId unlocks the iPad but it's stuck not rotating) bug on my iPad Air 2? Getting on my nerves now..

Due to the resent iOS releases, many may wait to update to iOS9 when it first comes out. There are MANY (millions) older iPhones and iPads out in the world that do not run well on the latest iOS releases and users now have become weiry to update due to slow down and issues with their now older hardware.

I for one am glad the are trying to get stable iOS8 before iOS9's release. Since the older iPhones and iPads cannot downgrade iOS versions to maximize their iOS experience for a particular product (like my iPad3 for iOS6 or Possibly iOS7 - mistake to have upgrade) this is a welcomed update.

8.4 broke my ability to stream other music players through my car usb cable like tunein radio.
I have NO iTunes music and cellular data for music is turned off. I get nothing but looking for playlist and after a minute my car gives up.
The only way I can play music through my car radio now is through Bluetooth which doesn't work very well, it's very kludgy and I hate it.
Please return iOS 8 back to normal playback.

My ears hurt from the sound of that mic drop. Wow.

At this point in time, they should just focus on iOS 9 instead. By the time the final 8.4.1 is released, it will be close to iOS 9 release.

The music app is buggy and by the end of September millions of accounts will end the evaluation period. Apple needs to fix music asap to entice its customers to subscribe to the service, I guess they'll release 8.4.1 before mid August more than a month before iOS 9

I've been using the Marvis music app and it's way more than I ever imagined, the dev is very active around here and is constantly updating the app. He's very receptive to feedback as well. If you like to highly customize your music I suggest giving the app a go. I used to use picky before that, haven't used the stock app in probably a year or so.

Check out Neutron Music Player. I've been using it now for almost a year, don't go near the stock iOS music player at all now.
Plays everything and you have ftp support too, so that you can copy tracks over to your device and not have to rely on iTunes.

It plays flac and everything else you can throw at it, and also gapless playback for MP3 works on both lame encoded albums as well as albums/mixes that have been encoded with iTunes and contain the iTunes gapless tag metadata.
The stock iOS music player has bugs in it which causes random gaps/pauses between some transitions on albums. And also lame encoded MP3 albums don't play 100% perfectly smooth gapless playback, it's not very noticeable but it's there. Neutron fixes both of these issues and play all my MP3 mixes fine.

If only Apple made these apps downloadable via Appstore, we wouldn't need an OS update to fix an app. Hopefully someday!

Why does Apple keep releasing final versions of iOS 8 all the way up to the end when they know iOS 9 is just around the corner and it's their mission that everyone upgrades to the new iOS 9. They even tout that so many have upgraded to the current iOS when they are still putting resources into perfecting the prior iOS?

It's great that they do this but I don't really understand it.

Yes, and everyone would have 100 different configuration of apps/hardware/OS (because they're been updated by some and not others) and debugging would become hell , that would surely improve stability...
