Considering Liquid Glass is one of their main new UI thing, I am afraid they won't make it optional. Let's hope they improve the implementation of it, and that they make the reduce transparency effect better. We may want to suggest that in the beta report section.

I agree. If the reduced transparency leads to a more flat, clearer, cleaner UI, I'm fine with that (and I've made those comments in the past to them). Regardless, what works for VR goggles (that very few people have experienced, so I have to question the wisdom of basing everything else on that) might not work in standard settings like a desktop or laptop. I'm uninterested in what I see as Aqua Redux and more interested in a UI that doesn't lead to chaos on-screen.

I just sent off feedback...
I don't think it's as you make it out to be. In your top photo, the text below the tool bar is clear, which is where your attention is focused. In your second photo, you wouldn't be reading messages in the background window. Where your eyes are focused, everything is clear. Blurry backgrounds items aren't really distracting.

Let me fix that for you:

"Blurry backgrounds [sic] items aren't really distracting" to you.

Do not presume to tell me whether it's distracting to me or not.

I cannot express the level of disdain I have for the new music app. Moving the the play bar to the bottom and leaving all the unused space is baffling. And best of luck trying to scrub through a track. The play head disappears and doesn’t show the duration. It’s an abysmal change to an otherwise decent update

I can't tell much difference between PB1 and PB2, apart from the drive icon has changed. I quite like Liquid Glass though i have dark mode enabled which maybe helps a bit?
