Yes I already looked there, but can't remember what it has been before. It's obviously a different version than the one you can download from Apple:

Same here, my 2012 MBP (Bought new a month ago cheaply) has newer firmware than on Apple's site, what I find odd though is that my 2012 MacMini has a black boot screen while my 2012 MBP still has the grey boot screen.

Didn't you also have a new imac that had issues with the last one? If you did and try again, let us know how goes the usb ports etc.

I can't test it anymore. :( Just put it back in the box a few hours ago because FedEd will pick it up tomorrow.

sorry to hear that. hope it works out. Mine has been fine since going back to 10.11.1.

I have a 15" rMBP. Never had an issue with choppy animations until I clean installed 10.11.1. This is from Maverics thru Yosemite thru an upgrade to El Cap. Weird that the issue appeared with a clean install.

Any progress on this in the beta? From the other issues in this thread, I think I'll avoid for now.

Mine has been fine too with the final version of 10.11.1, but I don't like that I can't use the same OS as on my two MacBooks.

Also it was a stupid idea not to get a maxed out version just because I had to wait a few days longer.

Maybe I will buy a new one again with i7, M395X and 1TB SSD when I know for sure the beta problems have been fixed.

At least the 2133MHz RAM I bought for the iMac is working fine in my MBP too and gave it a little boost, so I have just two 8 GB modules lying around instead of four.

Man please fix the automatic connect for magic mice. I keep having to delete and repair each time I get to my home office.

Also from time to time the messages app just bounces in the dock and I have to force quit.

Small pains but I have them every day.

Couldn't be soon enough! A lot of users had their Macs bricked (other problems, too) by 10.11.1. Let's hope .2 fixes this.

Yep. My laptop was bricked by 10.11.1. I had to restore to 10.11.0 via Time Machine. Thank God for backups.

If something is "bricked", no software in the world will help. Since it's bricked. The hardware would be useless (= as valuable as a brick).
Alchemy, Northgrove, alchemy. The judicious pressure of my deft fingers on a button or two (trade secret), chanting SuperDuper! thrice, and the application of a bootable clone, and voila! Made brick into Mac. But if you prefer “hosed”, I can go with that.

Exactly. beta 1 of 10.11.2 nearly bricked my 2015 27" imac. broken usb ports, audio dropping out etc. Gonna wait on this one now. Yes I know it was beta (beta police) but it shouldn't be so many steps backwards and damaging if it is going to be released to the public.

Just the exact opposite for me (and a few others)
O-oh, this is beginning to sound as if the 10.11.1 problem may persist in another form. Let's hope this is only true for the beta.

You see .1 fixed a whole lot of audio problems for me but .2 was a mess. I really wonder how they can be so different as far as stability is concerned. Sometimes it just seems like it is the luck of the draw...

Yes it's really annoying. The first 10.11.2 beta has even more issues than the last 10.11.1 beta had on the new 5k iMac.

It seems there are some drivers missing in the betas.

Has anyone already tried this new version on it?

Hopefully this will finally fix iMovie 9.0.9 and later where any static images appear black. It's killing many who need to use iMovie and was not fixed in 10.11.1

I wonder how many people bricked their pants with the unexpected black screen and then the fans going full tilt without warning?

Hopefully it fixes Apple Mail. I lost my outgoing mail box. Everything is grayed out and can't be changed!

And it was something DEEP that went wrong. I tried just reinstalling EC.0, uninstalling a bunch of stuff, etc., but that didn't fix it. Had to reformat.

I also experience choppy animations using the Intel Iris Pro on a 15" rMBP with 10.11.1.

Could you replace the "Mac Blog" with "Beta Blog" to separate all this stuff out maybe? The Mac blog doesnt have any direction anyway (ie. posts about el capitan features mixed with posts about new stores opening...)

Who's idea was it to make a main page announcement for every insignificant beta version of software?

There should be a subsection for this kind of "news".
