Had a weird Finder thing...no windows would open, was still running, dock still ok, files visible on desktop...restart cured it. But can't see my Synology. Will investigate.

Yeah I had WindowServer crap out and die on me within the first 20 minutes or so. As soon as I logged in after the update, checked a few things and was on a Reddit thread with a YouTube video. Clicked play on the YouTube video and the whole Finder froze on me. Mouse still worked for awhile but eventually the pointed disappeared. Had to manually reboot it and when it came back up, filled out my first feedback report for a WindowServer crash.

Yes seems to be something like that. Wonder what the issue is? Could something installed be interfering?

That's Beta 3 (or "Public Beta 1") I', still waiting for it to show up! Going on 4:45 EST, USA

I redownloaded the Public Beta profile, and after a brief hiccup, it "found" and is now installing the new Public Beta.
So weird and frustrating. I removed then re-downloaded the beta profile and restarted. Still no go. Says "unable to prepare update". Not sure what's going on; the detailed message suggests it could be my connection. But it's not? o_O

That really sucks. I have no idea what to tell you. If it were me, I'd probably do a Time Machine backup, then erase and restore the operating system (with Ventura, as going back could get kind of dicey...)

I have a Logitech G27 attached to an iMac 2017, which worked fine on games like Dirt 4, Grid Autosport on Monterey and earlier.
Attaching it once I updated it to Ventura Beta4 (oh, and Beta3), the wheel is unusable.

As Apple is adding more "native support" to wheels, I hope they don't forget the G27...

Do others here (yeah... slim chance, but you never know), have a Logitech G27 wheel?
i remember seeing the Logitech gaming configuration software as not working on the Ventura beta forum thread. Perhaps that is somehow tied to it. try reinstalling the Logitech software, that’s helped me with a few issues.

Anyone has the issue where the Music app is using dedicated graphics card?

Hmm.. need to dig into that.
With macOS 10.15 and higher, the apps (Dirt 4, Grid Autosport, F1 2017), I assume, made us of Apple's "DriverKit"
So, no additions or 3rd party drives installs necessary, the "app" does it for you.

OTOH, I do see blogs like this one, in which it seems with (up to?) macOS Big Sur, you can install addiontal driver software for Logitech hardware. But, I see no mention of macOS Monterey (and of course Ventura).

The thing is, is that Apple will be supporting gaming controller hardware "native" with macOS Ventura.
But, I can understand that the G27 might be considered "too old" and therefore not part of the list of "popular racing wheels"...

Anyone getting lagged notification sounds? I've submitted a feedback report. No fix yet.

Ahh, ok. Might just have to wait it out, and erhaps you'll have to install G-Hub from Logitech when it works, if it isn't fixed already? I understand why you would hesitate having that stuff always running in the background (I do).

Bummer.

I'm running into a weird bug where cycling through windows (within the same app) doesn't work.

i.e. the cmd-` (tilde) keyboard command no longer works.
Even in Finder, if I manually select Window > Cycle through windows from the menu, nothing happens.

I believe that function is tied to WindowManager, but I wonder if it's related to the WindowServer problem mentioned earlier.

I did create a new user, and cycling through windows *works*.

But I went back to the user where it's not working. I disabled every startup app, all user Daemons, even deleted everything in the Preferences folder and started in Safe Mode. Nothing seems to restore that functionality. Frustrating.

2022.7.290502 G-Hub is currently running on Ventura beta 4 on AS Macs. Still requires rosetta.

Anyone having sound issues? You will hear a little static and then the sound will stop. Using the new Studio Display for speakers sound (on a M1 Mini). Happens in Music app, Safari and other browsers. If I use AirPods, I have no issues. No issues with sound before I installed the beta.

Installed a few hours ago.

Immediately - terrible memory management issues. Required several restarts to fully resolve. Those continued even a bit later with Safari rendering issues - no color ... That then resolved on restart of Safari. After half a dozen reboots, everything save 1 seem to have resolved.

Safari has rendering issues in some circumstances that existed prior to beta 2 and that don't exist in Safari for iPadOS.

e.g. https://www.pharmvar.org/gene/CYP2D6. click on any of the gene details (e.g. 3829G>A) and a side window opens. The bottom two lines are unreachable and hidden behind the bottom banner. These are slightly more visible in Firefox, and correctly displayed in Chrome as well as Safari for iPadOS. Similar issues may exist on other sites.

Clean My Mac Menu is broken by public beta 2.

Maybe related to system changes with Stage Manager?
