My AW is logged into my iCloud account, but thanks. This has been a perpetual problem with almost every other release of Monterey
When it comes to networking and devices connectivity, good luck..

Good luck with AirPods switching, with Apple Watch unlocking, with continuity, with personal hotspot. Especially if you have two users accounts on your Mac and you log in on both simultaneously. Good luck.

I’ve been taking to apple for over a year about it. Some features never worked since inception, when in multi user mode.

So in the second RC, the USB mounting problems are worse for spinning disks, and better for SSD's. What apple giveth, they taketh away.
I finally ditched my external drives and ordered an internal mounting bracket for my 2019 MacPro. Apple really needs to get its act together. For the record the bracket should have come with the machine.

What was Apple's reasoning for making these backward changes to Displays preferences?

1. The top of the Displays preferences wastes space by showing the text “Displays Preferences lets you control settings for monitors…” No Sh*t Sherlock! Why is that text there at al?

2. The preferences further wastes space by showing a picture of a keyboard and mouse under the monitor(s). Do we really need this?

3. When using multiple monitors, settings are no longer displayed in a separate window on each monitor. Now settings for all monitors are combined into a single window that resembles something from a Windows PC. So you have to first click on the monitor in the list in order to see the settings. And hope that you click on the correct monitor.

4. To make matters worse: In previous MacOS versions when using multiple monitors, you could easily identify each monitor by clicking on one of the monitors in the preferences, and a red border will appear on the screen. But now in Monterey, you can’t identify a monitor without dragging it and disturbing the arrangement. And identifying monitors doesn’t work at all in settings list. You can only do it in the monitor arrangement view.

5. Did the engineer who worked on the new Displays preferences consider what happens when you have multiple monitors of the same model and how you are supposed to identify one of multiple identical monitors in order to change its settings?

6. The bottom of the Displays preferences shows the text “To mirror displays, hold the Option key while dragging one display on top of another”. Why do I need to hold the stupid Option key when in previous MacOS versions, you could simply drag one display over another?

7. To force MacOS to detect displays, you have to hold down the stupid Option key so the Detect Displays button magically appears. Yet this is not mentioned at all in the preferences window!! See #6 above.

Why does it seem that when Apple wants to make major changes in MacOS, they assign the work to engineers who have never used a Mac before?

Can anyone check if your mac also reboots when copying a file from an mounted ISO, on this version? This did not happen on 12.0.1

Installed the update.

Still waiting for YouTube to turn HDR back on. Not that it matters because all the stuff I watch on there is SDR.

Any idea if this update will fix the issues for USB docks and adapters ? Specifically when working with USB 3.0 webcams ?

It's not any better for me, Safari still continually increases in memory
Hey, not sure if you care to switch broswers at all, but my friends and I have tested the mainstream browsers, and surprisingly MS Edge actually is the only one that has not triggered memory leaks or slowdowns for us so far. Figured I'd share.

Anyone testing on 2018 i7 Mini?

Is it safe to update, yet? I usually upgrade iOS and macOS "in sync" to newer major versions and macOS is usually trailing iOS a couple of months.

This didn't seem to fix all MagSafe issues. I have gone through 4 MagSafe cables with Apple and 2/4 of them worked (but they were the stores), the new ones they gave me either blinked amber or got to about 60 watts and then just clonked out and went dark.

I hope the next version can fix this - hopefully, a firmware issue (seems to have this issue in recovery mode and while off).

Anyone find any temporary solution or work around?

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried a few of them, but ive ended up using the safari technology preview, as I am not having an issue with that one, would prefer regular safari , and I did try other browsers but I am a bit invested in Safari I guess with all the saved passwords and shared info across my devices etc.

One thing is clear : 12.1 didn't solve the external webcam connection issues... Apple keeps saying "the engineers are looking into it".
Might try another cam when I get to my office... but the C615 is out for the moment.
