> second release candidate versions of upcoming iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS 15.2

But no 2nd RC for watchOS 18.2. Odd.

Also, I upgraded to a newer phone last week, and now the [Apple Watch is fully charged] banner went away. Apparently that's been a bug for ages LOL

I have a coworker whose favorite animals are unicorns and sharks, so I wonder what the Genmoji would look like with a prompt of "Unicorn with sharks for arms"?
I tried it and it doesn’t come up with anything close.

Does this imply another week for 18.2 to drop? Normally, the RC wait is about 5-7 days, isn't it?
Not really.
It has the same change to see the light of the day tomorrow or at some point this week.

Or at least I am hoping, even though I am in Europe so no Apple Intelligence for me. Just hoping it fixes a couple of small annoyances for me on WatchOS and iOS

Darn! A while ago, I found this picture, and hoped that Genmoji could do something like it.

Comparison of MacOS 15.2 RC2 to previous MacOS 15.2 RC

macOS 15.2 RC (24C100)
  • Safari Version 18.2 (20620.1.16.11.8)
  • System Firmware Version: 11881.61.3 (AS based Macs)
  • Darwin Kernel Version 24.2.0: Thu Dec 5 18:32:37 PST 2024; root:xnu-11215.61.4~2/RELEASE_ARM64_T8103 arm64
macOS 15.2 RC (24C98)
  • Safari Version 18.2 (20620.1.16.11.8)
  • System Firmware Version: 11881.61.3 (AS based Macs)
  • Darwin Kernel Version 24.2.0: Fri Nov 15 19:28:45 PST 2024; root:xnu-11215.61.3~1/RELEASE_ARM64_T8103 arm64
Apple Music/TV is still 1.5.2.56

The kernel was replaced/updated

a week after releasing the first RCs

"A week" has 7 days, not 3. RC1 was released on Thursday, so final version was unlikely to be released today. Maybe late this week, at least.

Maybe, but part of the delay between RC and release is to give devs time to to build and test on the new Xcode, which goes to RC at the same time. They would have been testing with the updated SDK on beta Xcodes, but such builds are not accepted by the App Store. In that sense at least, the timing from RC1 might be sufficient.

I had issues with my 16pm, screen touch was sporadically non-responsive and sometimes when the screen turned on it would briefly show a few vertical lines. These issues started happening right after installing RC1.

I figured RC2 was around the corner.

All right about an hour and 20 minutes with it, it seems to be a bit snappy. And my Siri is no longer crashing on CarPlay so that’s good.

This beta and other betas of IOS 18.2 didn’t let me add stickers at all. It’s still a bug on my iPhone 16 pro. The sticker would be added for 2 seconds and it disappeared.

Is siri any better in this? Ever since 18.1 siri has been noticeably worse for me and more prone to misunderstanding or giving weird results to simple commands. Switching apple intelligence on or off hasn’t helped in either case.
Siri cannot be saved, or at least Apple can't save it. It will get worse and worse. Now it will add confusion to the user and the process by handing off some requests to ChatGPT. It's pathetic.

Any ideas when it will be released to the general public? I don't want to install betas/RC.

Oh nice, my share sheet functionality was broken in RC1 for certain apps, but seems to be fixed here in this new one.

macOS still has some trouble with some VPNs.
I hope 15.2 will fix that.

Other than this, I noticed Sequoia was quite stabler for me than previous releases.
