"Attempting to use these apps redirects customers to the Apple TV app for movie and TV show purchases."

So are the apps still in 17.2, but directs you to the TV app for your purchased content? Can you still search and buy TV and Movies in each of the apps, since those apps have the full store for purchasing sale items, bundles, full TV series box sets? The TV App has a limited store in the US. Will Apple force the sunset in those apps if you remain on 17.1?

If Automatically Update if OFF it won't update at all.

I disliked it when they removed the Trailers app and buried it several levels down in the AppleTV app. It was far less convenient, rather than more.
It’s even more buried in the UK, you can only access it via the web link which then opens the tv app via iOS. (Can’t access the trailers section at all using an AppleTV)
And even then it’s a poor offering of titles available.

For some reason i can't play my playlists in family shared AppeTV 4K, nor any family shared Homepod. I'm user, not the admin. "Hey Siri, play my Music playlist XY". "I can't find this playlist". :-(

i'm hoping they fixed homekit. many things not responding, it is a mess. i'll disable homepods updating so that appletv becomes the homekit master after the update.

I’m hoping that it will become less buggy than the mess it currently is. My Roku boxes are so much more reliable and robust. My Apple TV 4K is forever sending out sub par inages, freezes many streaming services regularly, requires constant app passwords or reboots. when it works it’s nice but for me lately that is less than 50% of the time on many streams. Recently Netflix is not showing half of the show images, just grey boxes with no titles. And it’s become so slow it’s laughable. Watching soccer on Peacock is an exercise I fear. If I try to fast forward or rewind it freezes or sends me back to the start. It’s always been less than perfect but recently it’s become far worse. It Takes the joy out of watching TV.

I don’t have any of those issues. Have you tested your hdmi cable? Maybe it has gone bad. Use the Apple TV hdmi cable test annd see what it says.

Also are you using WiFi or Ethernet? Try Ethernet if you can. It might make a difference.

You should install Speedtest by Ookla on you AppleTV and see what type of WiFi connect speeds you have. If you have an older WiFi Router that isn’t multi band, your been putting up unknowingly with a problem that is simple to remedy. Netgear sells some nice multiband models that support wifi6 whole house with a single station. You don’t need a mesh setup. Ideally you should see speeds similar to Ethernet via WiFi. ;)
