Focus related: does anyone else think it’s crazy you can’t set a default for Focus sharing in messages. In settings you can toggle if read receipts are sent by default or not and then within individual conversations you can toggle it on or off. But this option isn’t available for Focus, it just shares and you have to manually toggle off for individual conversation.
Send feedback to Apple?

Some notifications still aren't showing up for me. Whatsapp is the main culprit. And when they do show, they don't group at all, so I'll have a whole list of whatsapp messages from the same message group or a whole list of emails not grouped.

Is anyone else getting this?

I’m sure you’ve already checked, but make sure you’re not in one of the weird “do not disturb” modes. Even the sleep mode seems to handle notifications differently from ios14 (or maybe something changed with my settings?).

In today’s beta, you can set focus and read receipts for specific contacts in iMessage. So I can let my wife know I read her message without letting the entire world know I got theirs.

The best post in this thread was chrisdazzo’s copy of the release notes. Macrumors could do something similar with each of the new beta threads. Macrumors does eventually do a “what’s new” thread, so I just appreciate these posts as being a “heads up” that a new beta has been released and simply skip the article.

Did they stop macOS development? 🤷
MacOS tends to follow iOS/iPadOS by several weeks, often a month later. I would guess that macOS will not go into weekly releases until next week or the week after. I expect the next macOS beta to come out tomorrow (Thursday). While iOS still has three releases left before the expected iPhone September event that will likely be on September 14, the new MacBooks will likely not be released until October or November. My guess is that macOS will come out sometime in October, which may or may not match up with the M1X announcements. November seems a bit too long to wait for macOS final release.

Yes-iOS seems to have reached stable interfaces now, because Apple did not release any new Xcode betas.

Swiping between tabs using the bottom bar is a lot smoother than with the previous betas. All the tabs are in memory and scrolling can be initiated instantly. A better multitasking experience when using multiple tabs.

I've tried both top and bottom URL bar options and now prefer the bottom configuration, after they made the path to Reload (and keep scroll position) and Add to Reading List shorter in the last few betas. (But I don't see why they couldn't allow left-right tab swiping for the top URL bar as well.)

I tried to go back to the top URL bar to see how it feels like, but it already felt cumbersome, especially because tab-swiping isn't supported in that configuration. Not in the previous beta anyway. So, I'll stick with the new layout.

You could be right. What do I need to do to revert the do not disturb and sleep modes back to normal?
