I really don't understand that batter thing.

So they show the official Apple message saying your iPhone has experienced a shutdown due to the battery being bad.
But it's showing the Battery is still at 95% of brand new condition.

Does that make sense to anyone?

If the battery was at perhaps 35% or 45%, even 55% of a brand new batter, and the phone shut down, then, ok, I'd kinda accept that.
But 95%...... Really ?

Am I seriously the only one who experiences the dropped frames / stuttering scrolling in 3rd party apps?

Never an issue on my iPhone 6S which got to iOS 11 before I got an iPhone X.

Twitter is worst app I have, yet Safari is always butter smooth.

Not tried beta 3 yet as awaiting the public beta release.

Please send an email to Craig Federighi. I have already reported this and this sort of lack luster performance of the OS should be reported to the highest management. Iphone X and iphone 8 plus cost close to 1000$ Such rubbish perfomance that too for scrolling is unacceptable. What is the use of all those sky high graphics benchmark scores when simple scrolling animations stutters!
I remember reading a story where SJ had called the google manager because the logo had a slightly different color or something. All that care has disappeared!

But, man, like.... Think bout all that social justice we've gotten in exchange

I don't understand the move to generic app names like "app", "music", "books" - it makes it so much harder to look for advice or help on the internet. Just google "books +iOS" and you won't get lucky.
I agree. Perhaps Apple thinks generic names are what its latest versions deserve.

I think Apple really butchered their approach to the battery thing & I frankly was not expecting much. Hopefully very beta, they are somehow managing to be more vague & raise even more questions than before when performance management was in the background.

Very unimpressed with this company lately. As I see others have noted too, lacking care is a good way to put it.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact the iPhone X looks that bad.

The design team conceived that idea, it got approved, they made it, marketed it, and sold it.

Just an absolute disgrace in industrial design.

And functionally that extra 8mm of screen does nothing for improvements, I really really hate that phone.

I'm honestly in such disbelief that this phone was created.

Not a bad idea, already submitted feedback and a bug report. It’s a joke as it’s really obvious and annoying all the time. I wish a mainstream site would pick up and name and shame the poor performance.

Agreeded it’s ugly and creates pretty much pointless extra screen real estate.

Although I love the home buttonless gestures, they’re so fluid and smooth, unlike scrolling in 3rd party apps!

These days, what is the ****ing point of their beta program? It has failed them, period.

Unless it’s just a temporary bug, they’ve ruined Books, or iBooks, or whatever they’re calling it now. I read almost exclusively from my iPad. Previously, there were several settings for how you view books. One, All Books, showed everything all the time, including PDFs. Books showed all books other than PDFs. When you made a new category (a folder with a name you would put books in, like an individual author), that book could be taken out of the Books area, and put into the folder. Then there would be no books in the Books area, or, just a few that you didn’t make a category for, because you only had one of the type.

So you would just end up with a few nooks there, at most. When you got a new book, it was easy to find, and read. When you finished, you would put it into the category you wanted it in, and it would leave the Books area. This was very good for tracking new books, books you didn’t yet categorize, and for books preordered that hadn’t come in yet.

But now they’ve eliminated the All Books area, and the Books area now contains everything. I’ve got over 200 books and PDFs. I have to look through everything. It’s very confusing. Did I put a particular book in a category, or didn’t I? I have to look through the category to tell. Finding a book you were reading but had to close because of needing to read a PDFs manual is now lost amongst everything else. A book you ordered several months ago, but just came in is now lost somewhere, and you have to look again through everything to find it, if it did come in.

It’s a real mess!

I used an app called Marvin for a while, it’s a little better at managing your library and more customisable than iBooks.

Has Apple said it failed them? The point of a beta program is for additional testing and feedback, which I’m sure that Apple gets in droves.

I’m not sure how you can say it has failed them as you don’t know what they get in return.

Apple's QC has gone downhill big time. iOS 11.2.6? That is just ridiculous to have that many bug fixes.

I don’t think apple’s q.v. has gone “downhill” at all. In fact ever since the WiFi and Bluetooth vulnerabilities were patched Ive been impressed with the alacrity of the patches. Windows releases every week. iOS should release as needed. Bugs like this should be patched even if you don’t agree with the release schedule.

After this update, i’m gettin about 7hrs+ of usage on my iPhone X.

Anyone else having a problem with Safari? Its like I go to click on the search field in Google and can't start typing. The weather link below the field gets activated first and goes to there.
