Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming macOS Monterey 12.4 update to developers for testing purposes, with the new update coming a week after the release of the second macOS Monterey 12.4 beta.

Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center and after the appropriate profile is installed, betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.

According to Apple's release notes, Universal Control in the new iPadOS 15.5 and macOS Monterey 12.4 updates is not compatible with machines running macOS 12.3 or iPadOS 15.4, so Apple suggests that as a workaround, users should update their Universal Control devices to the new betas.

We don't yet know if there are any other features in macOS Monterey 12.4, and nothing new was discovered in the first two betas.

Safari went backwards?

A little less than 6 weeks (5.87) is when you get you get to hear about Mammoth and what it uses.
Crikey, if my new 16" MBP on order arrives with Mammoth, I will be furious! I do not want to be a Delta Tester. Especially whilst Apple continues to refuse to build a functioning test team and test processes.

After updating, the external monitor(using USB-C Digital AV Multiport adaptor) cannot be connected.

+)
after all, I solved this issue by restoring the CCC backup to 12.3.1 ?

May just be me but the system over all feels more responsive on my system than the last beta did. The last felt like it had a hint of lag in the UI, that seems to be gone now, mostly.

The last letter of the build number, which is letter e, is same with pervious two beta.
Does this mean that the official version is still far from us?

Typically with .4 releases, Apple tends to do between 5-6 betas, so as we are on the third, I'd say we have at least 3 weeks before it gets released to the public; just in my opinion, though, Apple could release it later or sooner.

It's my understanding that the last letter, in this case e, would be the 5th build of the day? There's been times where the build number talk has gone on for far too long, though ?

Here's a better explainer regarding Apple's build numbers & their meanings:

Also, if I am correct that a daily build ending in e means it is the 5th build of the day, that would imply that the team had to submit 5 builds? People always worry about a build with a higher letter, but that could also just mean one or maybe more issues were being found and corrected at each incremental build.
Which is good. Finding and fixing bugs = good
Pushing out another 'a or b build' could imply things are being missed. I guess it's all about perspective.

My post concerning the Safari/System FW/Darwin Kernel specifics against AS Macs can also show when your coming to a end of each incremental beta cycle. This beta showed Safari reverting to a more stable version, but the FW is still changing.
