Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming tvOS 13 update to its public beta testing group, two weeks after seeding the second public beta and day after seeding the fourth developer beta of tvOS.

Public beta testers can download the new update by going to the Settings app on the Apple TV and navigating to the Software Updates section under "System." "Get Public Beta Updates" will need to be toggled on, and once it is, the Apple TV will download the beta software.

Those who want to beta test the software can sign up to do so on Apple's beta testing website.

tvOS 13 includes a new Home screen that's aimed at making it easier to find new content, with support for autoplaying videos to show off new TV shows, movies, and apps, similar to Netflix.

Multi-user support is new in tvOS 13, letting each member of the family have their own customized Apple TV interface with separate recommendations, music playlists, and Watch Now lists. A new Control Center lets you swap between profiles.

tvOS 13 gets the Apple TV ready for Apple Arcade, Apple's new gaming service that's coming to the Apple TV, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS later this year. Apple Arcade will offer unlimited access to more than 100 new and exclusive games, for one subscription fee.

Apple Arcade preparations include support for the Xbox Wireless Bluetooth Controller and the PlayStation DualShock 4 Controller, both of which can be connected to an Apple TV over Bluetooth.

Apple is also adding new under-the-sea themed screensavers made in partnership with the BBC Natural History unit, also known for "Blue Planet," and the new software brings support for a picture-in-picture mode that lets you watch TV while doing other things on the Apple TV.

Anyone else never able to update to new tvOS betas on Apple TV? Every time I check in both my bedroom & living room Apple TVs, it just says the software is up to date and I think it's still on the first public beta.

My autoplay setting is turned on but I'm not seeing any autoplay through the tv app. Tv show ends and doesn't continue to the next episode. :(

I tried that as well, but nothing changed. Very odd, and seems specific only to this app, which is first party. That was the confusion for me.
The other thing I’ve read is disabling location settings for the trailers app under Settings -> Apps - > Trailers

So far, tvOS 13 is a disaster!
Based on the level at which this is sucking on the current hardware...I'm hoping there will be new hardware fairly soon.

tvOS 13 third public beta for my AppleTV starts with the Airplay screen but the Airplay overlay never disappears, and the remote menu button never takes you to the menu. You can press the power button and search for a movie, get to Netflix, but the menu button...takes you back to the Airplay screen.

update: tried the good old unplug and blow out the connector (!) trick and now it works. Just a (very bad) glitch.

…it’s a beta. Past beta releases (tvOS 12) have been buggy too. Did you expect it to be perfect?!? They’ve still got about two months to work out the kinks.

In my experience with the previous public beta, it was actually pretty smooth though. A few bugs (like the Trailers app), but nothing major from what I can see.

Your experience, and mine...are two completely different things. No, I didn't expect it to be perfect. The final release has never been perfect. However, this is the worst I have ever experienced. Glad it's pretty smooth for you.

So far no real issues:
Fixed the can't sign in with TV Provider credentials for Fox News, CNN and History Channel. MLB At Bat fixed the hide scores staying on issue.

I wish Apple would bring back the up next when highlighting the TV app without going into it.

Where do you turn on Autoplay? I can’t gind that option in the OS.
