Apple today seeded the third betas of upcoming iOS and iPadOS 13.3.1 updates to developers, one week after seeding the second betas and more than a month after the release of iOS 13.3 with Communication Limits for Screen Time.

iOS and iPadOS 13.3.1 can be downloaded from the Apple Developer center or over the air once the proper developer profile has been installed.

iOS 13.3.1 includes a "Networking & Wireless" toggle that turns off the U1 Ultra Wideband chip in the latest iPhones. The feature, located in the Privacy > Location Services section of the Settings app, turns off location for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Ultra Wideband.

Apple added this location toggle after it was discovered that the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max continue to track user location even when location services options are disabled. This is because there are international regulatory requirements that mandate the U1 chip be disabled in certain locations.

The new toggle makes sure location tracking is off for the U1 chip at all times. Apple has also added a new "Play Again" button when replaying content that you've already watched in the TV app.

Along with these features, the iOS 13.3.1 update also likely includes bug fixes for issues unable to be addressed in the iOS 13.3 update. Specifically, it could address some issues with Communication Limits, fixing a workaround with the Contacts app that allowed children text someone who contacted them from an unknown number.

Love all of the content in this minor update. On the other hand, I feel as if Apple could make its TV app a bit more user friendly in future updates by including an Apple TV+ tab on the bottom of the screen.

Let’s wait to see if beta tester can confirm that the iPhone now switches correctly between cellular and WiFi and viceversa. Also interested in knowing if battery drain is finally solved.

Can we finally get support for the Series 2 Xbox Elite controller? Really want to be able to play with my controller on my iPad Pro... if they can add this toggle so quickly, why can’t they whitelist the controller?

anyone else got problems with custom subs in NETFLIX ? since ios13 they are not working anymore.

Hoping this build is more stable saw a lot of strangeness with this build. Always hard to tell if its because of the beta or not.

since 13.3 borked my wifi/bluetooth, is there a way to install this beta on the mac?

i can't do ota lol.
You appear to have an issue that most others don't. I"d guess that this means your 13.3 upgrade went wrong somehow, so I'd suggest backing up to your laptop, putting your phone into DFU mode (still connected to your laptop) and re-install 13.3. First try to install it over the existing iOS but if that fails, do an install as new, and then use the backup you just took to restore.

You should then get wifi/bluetooth working again, after which you can insall 13.3.1b3 like the rest of us :)

I tried that. X10. So I’m thinking it maybe hardware store this point. 😭

the way they tie those components together, often when both fail simultaneously it’s a hardware failure. Was very common with the iPhone 6.
What’s weird was it was working perfectly fine on iOS 12

iOS 13.3 is STILL killing apps in the background almost immediately!

Examples are Amazon app, Google Photos, Whatsapp wont do its daily backup overnight, etc!

Most of apps are refreshing even freakin 10 seconds after they where closed, only one app opened between them.

WHAT THE HELL!? I’m not seeing apple or communities following up on this.

It’s definitely NOT resolved. Anyone!?
