Apple Seeds Third iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 Betas to Developers

Apple today seeded the third betas of upcoming iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 updates to developers for testing purposes, with the software coming two weeks after Apple seeded the second betas.

Registered developers can download the betas from the Settings app on the iPhone or iPad by going to the General section and selecting Software Update.

With iOS 27 set to launch in September, Apple is wrapping up work on iOS 26. We are not expecting any major new features in the iOS 26.6 update, and it will primarily focus on bug fixes and performance improvements.

The update adds new wording around blocked contact limits, letting users know when they have exceeded the maximum number of blocked contacts. The update might also include a new anti-snatching feature that locks your iPhone if it's grabbed from your hand.

As long as it’s a known bug they might be working on it or they might wait until iOS 27. There is no way of knowing

iOS 27 hasn’t been that great either the 2nd beta has kinda been worse in smoothness and battery life while it did fix some other bugs it’s not that great I still think iOS 18 is superior out of both iOS 26 & iOS 27.

I skipped 26 on my iPhones, preferring 18, but it looks like 27 is going to be okay. (It has a calendar glitch on my test mule.)

I don’t want to speak too soon, but this new 26.6 update has finally stopped the homescreen swiping choppiness and lag? I have no idea if this will maintain or not but this has been my biggest annoyance with iOS 26 so far and it has (apparently) taken this long to fix!?
