The major issues I'm having are MAIL glitches but isn't that just a thing Apple doesn't care about?
I think the program has been broken since Snow Leopard!

Also Preview crashes immediately attempting to open pics on HDs or SSDs that are not where Mac OS is installed.

This bug alone is just an unbelievable one. How can you screw up something that only opens pictures mostly from any source? UGH :(
[doublepost=1510637820][/doublepost]Just did the update. HIGH SIERA is turning into a bunch of monkeys throwing paint at a wall thinking it's art.

How can you make a program like Preview not work? It only does ONE THING!

If it wasn't so sad, it would be laughable. How many bug reports do I have to file.

High Sierra works fine, but only if you're "high." :(

Apfs has problems with TRIM on ssd not Apple by adding fifteen seconds to boot. Are there improvements in this beta?

How about Apple fixing the issue that High Sierra cannot be installed onto a RAID system - either SSD or Mechanical!! Some of us are still using the (vastly superior) original Mac Pro!

Not having that issue (or any other with the last two betas) on any of the Macs I manage. Don't you think it's possible that it's a "you problem" and not an Apple problem?

Thanks for this; I use Preview heavily.

Looks like I'm staying on Sierra for quite a bit longer, as I still see no benefit to upgrade to HS and I'm done putting up with crappy Apple hardware/software.

I can wait 'till ALL the kinks are worked out before I even attempt to try it on my system; not wasting my time.

Seriously?!

OK, thanks to you too for posting this (2 out of my 3 systems are RAID)!!

When coupled with the Preview issue, this removes all temptation to "just try it". Complete deal-breaker.

Trying to install the public beta 3 and my mini stalls at the part where the black line under the Apple logo is completely filled in then nothing else happens. Restarts of the machine don't help, SMC reset doesn't help, PRAM reset doesn't help. It has been sitting there now for 30+ minutes with no change and the temp on the mini is not much warmer than when S/D. I've never had this problem before. Any suggestions?

try with safe mode boot ...press and hold shift button

Well, after 5 separate and distinct attempts to install public beta 3 I tried my final arrow which was to do a restore startup. Even that failed halfway through the first time but the restart FINALLY got me back on HS 10.13.1. Note that the restore did not install the public beta 3.
I did submit a bug report to Apple about the complete failure to get public beta 3 installed. OBTW, the App Store shows it, public beta 3, available for me to download and install. I think I will skip this one and wait for public beta 4, or the GM.

It's most likely on his side, he's complaining about High Sierra since it's release, might have bad hardware or third party software which affects his System although I think the last is unlikely.

I have none issues whatsoever, the issues I have with mail for instance are my own, I block most Google stuff, this also means that I can't get Gmail mail if I block it.

Preview works fine here.

It’s not a “me problem” according to Apple Tech Support! If you try installing High Sierra onto an existing Sierra RAID system the Sierra RAID is greyed out as a possible installation location.

I’m told it might be possible to undo the HFS+ RAID, reformat the RAID disks in AFS format then rebuild the RAID from a separate High Sierra Boot Disk. Finally migrating your data from a previous backup! Something to keep you occupied over a (very!) long w/end!!

Trouble is I’m told this AFS RAID may not itself be upgradable to the next release of High Sierra... My inclination is to stick with Sierra until Apple provide a fix - assuming Apple decide to continue RAID support in High Sierra!

Since I have rigorously tested the drive by various means, and copying the pics to the desktop causes them to open, this is NOT MY PROBLEM, but a problem with High Sierra. If the pics were corrupt, how could I copy them to another drive and open them in PREVIEW!

It's very simple. They F'd something up, permissions or something. Software and music still plays from this drive, but not ONE PICTURE will load.

Timmy, you broke it.

Though my issues noted above are nothing like yours, I think they are similar in a way. I have NEVER had the kind of problems as a public beta tester as I had with beta 3. I agree with you, Timmy, you broke it.

The MAIL program is a continuing issue going back to Mavericks. Every update and all your server settings and accounts are screwed up. It's like monkeys throwing paint at a wall thinking it's art.

I have an account that is a conjoined twin of another account. One doesn't show up in MAIL program. He's Bertram apparently. If I delete and try to re-install the MAIL account, I will lose all my personal emails from my family!

There is virtually no solution to this without archiving all the mail on both accounts and deleting them both and starting over. To say this is pathetic is just mind boggling.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Get away from Apple mail however you can do it. Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook are two options. I have tried to use Apple mail for years and never was happy with the way Apple has dealt with its issues, and there have been many over the years.

Stop using beta software for starters.

I've never been a huge fan of Apple's Mail app, I've had my own set of issue with it in the past setting up accounts. But I find it more serviceable than the dozens of other email apps out there like Outlook, AirMail, Spark, etc... Though Outlook is probably the ONLY fully-baked solution.

Are the Nvidia drivers issues finally fixed ? Or the Chrome is still unusable browser, not to mention any heavier GPU apps or... well an external display :+).
