A third RC? This might be the first time I see it.

I don't think we have ever witnessed a Third Release Candidate.

Big Sur 11.2 had an RC3 prior to release. That’s the last one I know of before today.

OS X Yosemite 10.0 had a GM3, which is basically the same thing as an RC3.

You have Betas and Release Candidates and I still don’t understand the difference. Having a 3rd RC might as well be an 8th beta.

RC2 and RC3 are just minor changes to original Release Candidate (RC) which is usually meant if no other issues as a stable build for the public.

A firmware downgrade (as in RC2) isn't a minor change.

This is the one I’m waiting on. Finally pulled the trigger and upgraded from Monterey over the weekend and this is the only complaint I have. Otherwise- surprisingly, Ventura has been great. (Especially that it completely got rid of the md_stores indexing issues I had)

I wish Apple would just slow down and release useful, bug free (as much as possible) releases instead of rushing out new useless crap based on some arbitrary schedule. I need my mac to work as expected, that's the most important thng as far as I am concerned.
