Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming tvOS 18.1 beta to developers for testing purposes, with the new software coming a week after Apple seeded the second tvOS 18.1 beta.

Registered developers are able to download the tvOS 18.1 update by opting in to the beta through the Settings app on the Apple TV. A registered developer account is required.

tvOS software releases are usually minor in scale compared to other operating system updates, focusing primarily on smaller improvements rather than outward-facing changes. We don't know what's included in tvOS 18.1.

Apple shares some information on tvOS releases in its tvOS support document, which is updated after each tvOS launch, but Apple does not provide notes during beta testing.

Though we don't always know what's new in tvOS betas, we let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so those who are developers can download new software upon release.

I just mean that they usually drop same time as say iOS, which is currently horrible, I get springboard crashes all the time! I regret hopping on this beta cycle!

Can we just get some bug fix 18.01. Literally every device is buggier than any update in many years. WiFi problems, internet loading problems. AppleTV pixelated video despite a gigabit connection, requiring a full restart every time I use it. My MacBook Pro Wifi icon never shows that it's connected when it actually is. Searching still a complete ********.

In terms of Apple's silos, I still don't get why Software Update is under "General" on every other device, but it's under "System" for TVOS

I think that's just you - literally NONE of my devices are experiencing ANY "bugs".

Nope. It’s me too.
Crashes, WiFi problems, Airplay issues, random missing button identifier text (paste, copy, etc), random music selection suddenly starts playing, battery drain, sometimes, and probably few other glitches that I’m trying to remember.
I know it’s a BETA (I had auto updates on when I thought I didn’t) but it’s the worst, most buggy update I’ve experienced in years.
The. Worst.
I’m ready to launch my iPhone, along with my Sonos kit/dead weight while I’m at it.
WTF?

Even with the latest updates my 2019 iMac takes maybe 10X longer to wake from sleep. I click the mouse and keyboard endlessly and it eventually works. Not once have I been able to do iPhone mirroring either, though it sees the phone. My M2 macbook works with it at least, but still refuses to show WiFi connected in the menu icon. Homepod still refuses to ever play music from my iTunes library. Literally many thousands of dollars of purchased music and always refuses to play unless I tell it to shuffle music.
