What bugs are affecting you? iOS 18.0 is running like a champ here. I'm holding off on updating my Mac, as it requires rebuilding all of my installed software libraries, but so far my iPhone hasn't had a single bug that has affected me.

Same here. Have had my 16PM since release day, did the 18.0 mini update, and have yet to find any issues of any kind. It's an outstanding phone.

Things like this all over the system for me. That’s supposed to be Apple Pay/Wallet. I’ve also had contextual menus be blank in Safari, and little annoying bugs like stuttering animations.

That being said, this is for VisionOS and I only posted this as a response. I won’t comment further as to clog up the VisionOS thread.

Wait, so you know a better course than Apple executives and engineers?

Are you trying to say that throwing more money at the project will move it in the "correct" direction?

Let's review this 3 years from now and see how well your position aged.

Hint: it won't age well. Apple knows exactly what they are doing and their course. This is not the Apple Car.

Spot-on. So many people here believe TC, Apple execs, Apple product managers, Apple product and system engineers, etc, are stupid.

Why? Because the people who believe that are not capable of fathoming any so-called "use cases" (I hate that phrase, btw) for AVP. That's *their* issue. People with curiosity and healthy imaginations who have purchased an AVP and have been using it for months are doing just fine with theirs. I'm still on the fence because it is a chunk of money, and I'm waiting for certain apps to be released. But in no way would I ever criticize the product knowing what it's about and what's ahead.

Also, regarding Apple Car... that died as soon as the US imposed a 100% tariff (up from 25%) on all EVs *not manufactured* in the US.

I love my AVP, but I'm quite shocked at the lack of 3D apps and availability of AVP type videos from Apple.. and the inability to view and share 3d videos among other worldwide users.

If you don’t own an AVP you have exactly zero business complaining. I love mine. I just used it on a 2 hour flight. I have a 2 hour sit in an airport and going to use it again. It’s great. User opinion is the only one that matters.
Totally agree here. I cant see why people are so willing to complain about this one.

Look I will be the first to admit that I am really waiting for wide-screen because that's the 'killer feature' I'm after. But at the same time I really do prefer to put on the headset and be immersed in my work (even just with using a single screen at the moment cast from my MBPRO). It's a different way of working... a way to be more focussed. And I cant help thinknig that use cases will only become better and better with software updates.

Ultra-wide screen is the last hope for Vision Pro to be part of my production pipeline. I tried to make Vision Pro replace many of my browser workflow with Keyboard and Mouse but it just has too many minor glitches especially with keyboard shortcut/random browser crash from making it a productive tool.

Wearing it for more than 2 hours is simply unbearable. The current Mac Virtual Display is fine but the productivity gain is not really comparable to the pain I suffer when I am working with it.

The only best part for it is really for watching movie and navigating my photo library. I find the pain disappeared when I am doing entertainment - siting comfortable on a couch, titling my head upward, zero input, just sit ... But really I don't have the time to do entertainment everyday ... it is really hard to justify for spending USD 3K+ for an entertainment device that I am not using everyday.

I will keep mine though for sure. It is like a relationship with a hot side piece. Fun to work with but not really adding value to your life.

Since the only use case I ever hear about, including from Tim, is for media consumption, why does it ever need an update?
Same was for iPad, its now a capable productive device. Wait and watch, AVP will reach there much much faster. i would love to have one, just, that its way out of reach, financially.

My 83” TV was over $3000 when I bought it back in 202 My big screen TV was over $3000 when I bought it back in 2021…
Now nothing beats the Vision Pro with its huge display.

Since the first iPad it has been my primary work tool went on site. I also carry a MacBook but I hardly ever use it, most of the time to either run Windows inside VMware to use quick assist or create special Windows media, or to use Xcode or Final Cut Pro.

My AVP is now becoming a very useful work tool. For example, yesterday I used it most of the day at a job site to gain access, update and reconfigure some surveillance cameras.
I also use it to manage networks and review large network topology trees.
And because I don’t have to force my eyes into looking at a small screen, I can work more comfortable inside the Vision Pro environment.

I had the same problem. Just delete it and add it again and your problem will be gone.

If it helps I was having a heap of trouble wearing it for more than about 30-45 minutes (using the 2-strap setup) until I started adjusting the top-strap to be tighter so that pretty much all of the weight/pressure was being taken by that top one.

I found that took the weight off the cheeks and nose which were the main pain points. Well for me anyhow.

Assuming you've tried the Annapro strap? Doesn't cost much. Have had mine (the v1 version) since day 1 and it makes it SO much more comfortable. Good review here:

Pity Apple didn't ship this with the Vision Pro as it revolutionises the experience, particularly for working.

[I have no affiliation with Annapro or the YouTuber above - just my opinion]

I concur 100%; I got mine on release day, and I will be honest - at first I had buyer's remorse. However, I work from home, and I now use it a minimum of 4+ hrs / day - I am an old guy who has used Apple products since the Apple II in the 80's, and it is absolutely the most impressive device by far that they have ever released. I am more impressed by it the longer I have it; I would have never imagined that mirroring my MacBook on a giant floating screen would be the daily use case that I would find for it! Media consumption on it is equally awesome.

Should they have waited a bit to release it? Maybe; I'm not real happy hearing that the update next year will be 3 generations newer (M5) in regard to the processor. But for what it does now, it's almost like this thing was plucked from 5 years in the future - it seriously makes my M3 Pro MBP and M4 iPad Pro feel outdated.

I wish MacRumors had a way to validate actual owners similar to Reddit. At this point, the only people griping about the AVP are the ones that don't have it.

I don't give the Annapro enough credit, but it was what finally made long-term use comfortable for me. I am in my AVP 4 hrs a day using it for work and frequently forget I am wearing it until I go to get up and the battery cable stops me! Any idea what the v.2 will offer that's different?

That's laughable. Apple executives will never take grade school level Apple burns seriously; especially from a group that has a history of making such comments daily for almost 20 years.

If you really want to make recommendations/suggestions to Apple, take the time to write a thoughtful adult-level letter expressing your views to Craig F or Tim C. You'll likely get a thoughtful letter in reply.
You mean like the thoughtful and intelligent comments about ping, iTools, cracks on G4 Cube, iPhone 4 attenuation problem, hockey puck mouse, etc?

It’s true, Apple addressed those things, but Steve Jobs was at the helm then and actually perused message boards.

Yes, I do. Grade school burns and sideways comments will likely be ignored. Keep it adult level and you'll likely get a response.
