So good news! And to all Americans who are accusing the EU of (only) attacking Apple… same story starts in the US 😁
Big difference the EU made laws to attack US tech companies. DOJ has to win in court and this case has to make it to court first.

Trump and Cook have a relationship that goes way back. I am guessing the DOJ case gets dropped in exchange for Apple agreeing to build something here
This is why you don't burn bridges.

Today's enemy could easily be tomorrow's ally. I am betting that the item at the top of Tim Cook's to-do list is getting Trump to kill the DoJ's antitrust lawsuit (which I feel has very little merit to begin with).

I am also guessing that we don't be seeing any additional antitrust attacks from the US against Apple for a while either.

But it is also Trump, so I suppose - I will believe it when I see it? 😛

As badly written an enforced the DMA is, it’s like the DOJ was trying to one-up them in the nonsensical race.

Despite all the back and forth going on here, the fact of the matter is no US court has ever ruled that a company with Apple's market share is a monopoly, which is why the real reason the case should be dismissed. The DOJ had to invent a new, non-existent market segment "premium smartphones" to make Apple, with 55% of the smartphone market reach the 70% threshold. It'd be like saying Coke has a monopoly in the "premium caffeinated colas" market where their only competition is Pepsi.
