You mean it is not a problem when a personal data say of a law enforcement personnel maintained by a third party on a server outside of your country?
If there's nothing to hide, there's nothing to deny.
It's all about trust, if I was a law enforcer in russia I can understand you would like your personal data on a server outside the country.

Let’s store CIA’s personal data on a server in Russia then. If CIA got nothing to hide… there is nothing to worry about.
If you are familiar with a concept of sovereignty there is always a lot to worry about.

The data of Russian citizens must not be stored on the servers maintained by a third party outside Russia. This is a national security issue plain and simple.

There’s plenty of people who trash talk Russian government/Russia in general without any consequences. I guess if you lie about someone you can be charged with defamation but this is the universal rule applicable everywhere.
And yet Private Relay still works for me from Moscow. It thinks I’m in the UK so I’m happy with that.

I can still access and read those blocked website. Medusa.io etc.

No spying on me Pooty Pooty.

It’s meduza.io and it’s interesting.. but also the point here: should apple bend the knee here? If freedom is at stake or worse should apple aid and assist?

Also, not available in Thailand (and I'd bet in a lot of the authoritarian governments in Asia and the Mid-East).

If or whenever Apple is forced to disable a privacy feature like Private Relay, they should have a help document to show users how to configure it manually in the Network preference pane.

This advanced preferences options would allow users to:

- Choose application that you want to make private.

- Configure the tunnel/routing service (Cloudflare, Akamai, etc) for that app.

- Configure geolocation for that app : General, Local or International Randomised.

- Randomise fake MAC address.

apple and how-to manuals don't belong in one sentence.
