Apple this morning has apparently sent several developers report emails for Search Ads Basics that belong to other developers.

The reports, which relate to promoted ads that show up in App Store search queries, have been received in error by several developers this morning, as noted on Twitter.

Um Apple you might want to check why Search Ads is emailing me some other developer's ad spend details pic.twitter.com/hfBcsqpCiy - Steve Troughton-Smith (@stroughtonsmith) February 6, 2018

Introduced late last year, Search Ads Basic works so that developers only pay out if a user installs the app. It includes suggestions on how much a developer should pay based on historical data pulled from the App Store based on the type of app being marketed, and uses App Store trends to target the ideal audience.

Today's communications error harks back to a similar issue Apple had with iTunes Connect that occurred two years ago, when users were shown someone else's session after attempting to login to their own account.

TechCrunch contacted some of the developers who said they had gotten the emails, and confirmed that the mis-sent message currently appeared to be the only issue. We'll update this article when we learn more.

It seems Apple cannot walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. It's not one big issue with them; it's a lot of little issues.
Tim couldn't take my call (answering bug), but Phone provisioning seems safe

They really (still) have a lot problems when it comes to internet services... Which is worrying me a bit since internet services become more and more popular in the industry.

I hate to say this, but it really comes down to the people they are hiring to do this work and a lot of other work at Apple. It seems to me that the profit at all cost strategy is hurting the Apple brand. Maybe Apple should hire better more experienced people instead of the bottom tier cheap or outsourced people. This, to me, is simply a reflection on management. Don't know which management, but it is management, none-the-less.

Microsoft must be falling over themselves over recent events, they are surely in 'smug mode' now:):)

Makes the Apple slogan, "Think Different" take on a whole new meaning now.

Geez. Glad I’m ccamping in Oahu for two weeks with no services. Maybe by then I can gaze at articles that reflect well on Apple for once.

All of these issues that are occurring do not seem to be small. Spooky. Hide your wife and kids.

Bugs have spread beyond iOS. Apple is starting to rot.

Unfortunately Apple seems to be marketing dumbed down consumption rather innovation and who’s not these days. Like how many services, providers and apps do we need to watch television and movies or listen to music.

Pushing iOS devices and offloading innovation to the iOS app developers shows Apple clearly understands the principle of working smarter not harder.

And who wouldn’t like taking a cut of every app sale and in app purchase.

Shifting focus means Apple can shift resources from R&D to advertising and accounting. Unfortunately quality control suffers as the brain trust of software and hardware engineers look for employment elsewhere.

Seems to be a big database management problem! My friend recently got an email from Apple notifying him that his iPhone battery (for replacement) had arrived at a nearby store. The email contained his Apple ID, his iPhone serial number, and a different customer's name.
