Seems like they are sending out the 32 GB and 64s early and the 16 GB's will be 1-2 day shipped at the last minute for 9/21 delivery date

I really don't think this theory of yours holds any ground. They probably send them in the order they were received.

From what I've read, all the 32 and 64s have had their status to "prepared for shipment" while the 16s are set to holiday shipping with a delivery date of 9/21.. And I ordered 12:04 and there are people that ordered at 12:21 and are in the "prepared for shipment" status.. And they all ordered 32s or 64.

No, it's typical for them to ship a plane load of the same model at once. They also ship to the east coast first, as it takes longer from China. You can go read threads from previous launches for evidence.

I ordered 32GB and my order is processing. Every time apple releases something people come up with these stupid theories.

I think this is TRUE
Because My 32 GB is right now preparing to ship and my 16 GB order is still processing with Holiday shipment now.

As far as i get it on 21st i really don't care when order status changes..

Yeah same here.

Hmm could be. My 16gb is still processing. I really wish that it would come on the 19th instead... my Straight Talk service expires on the 19th and I don't want to buy an entire month for two days >_<

I agree my order was complete at 2:02 am central time and I ordered the Verizon 32gb black one and it's still processing.

My 16GB is on Preparing for Shipment...has been for over 16 hrs now.

Sending out "last"? We are all getting it on the same date. Maybe they are processing the orders last, but they will be sent on the 21st regardless.

Well I ordered my 64 at 12:14 and it's still "processing."

my 16BG slate/black CDMA has been preparing for shipment since late afternoon yesterday. Order confirmation in my email box is time stamped at 12:04 Friday

You need to keep reading as what you are thinking is simply not true.

8.20AM BST, Black, UK Apple store and it has been preparing for shipment for about 12 hours now.

changing the order status is a huge batch job in a database. when you access the internet you get a read only copy of the data that the web server hits.

so the master copy of the order database has to be updated and those changes replicated to read only copies which takes time. hours sometimes for millions of records changes. so just because yours still says processing, it doesn't mean its true.
