Correct, there is nothing unsafe about using google.com. However, if you don't mind Google knowing which websites you've visited, how long you visited them and how often you do, coupled with knowing where you've gone, how long you were there, how many stops you made between point A and point B, where you've gone on vacation, what you did and how long you did it, then it's a no-brainer, right?

When you say “you” what do you mean? A specific individual with PII sent to Google?

Asking this question shows that you need to get out more. You've got to be kidding, right?
No. I’m serious. Where is the evidence searching on google.com gives Google PII?

Like any other website, they'd have your IP address unless you use a proxy. They can then link that with info from a Google account, location data, and/or all their partner websites and search choices to create a pretty detailed profile of an individual.

That's why I try to spread out my internet use in different silos. Google for email, apple devices, duckduckgo for search, tracking protection, etc. The key being search, because it can tie a whole lot of different things together.

Where is the evidence? If you have a Google account then go to it and then on to Security. And lo and behold it will show you the data it has on you. Which is truly mind-boggling.

You are right, USSR style containment of China will never work. That is what this European gather from living in both China and the US. Compared to your orange leader, Xi Jinping is a marvel of statemanship, defending traditional Western values like free trade and methodically building a new super power while your shortlived empire is going the way of Rome and Britain.

You're either a fool or a mainland Chinese because your talking points are exactly what CCP propaganda taught their bots to use to counter any criticism of CCP but as you can see it will never work.

I don’t intend to have a conversation with a communist bot so welcomed to my block list. 👌

Here we go... This is getting bad...

Communist floods and used as evidence for just about everything outside.. All you need is a label on something now-days, and we gets scared.

It is,but only the user puts it on line to begin with..

Google has NOTHING on me when I check mine... because i don't use real info at all *anywhere*

This is more of a play on words. Google has bad habits, but users are the cause of it by trusting them in the first place.. knowing fully well of their model.

You put it there, don't freak out after the fact how much a business has to make it sound scary, as i would just continue point the finger at the source.

We are the cause... Companies should be trusted but they can't, and yet it doesn't change our practice.

Ahhh, a European-based America basher. What a novelty.

Can you point out where in the U.S. a single concentration camp is located? No, I didn't think so.

Don't worry the Chinese don't call them concentration camps either.

Oh dear - oh dear oh dear. Apart from the fact that you're on the way into recession and most of the good stuff is happening because of Obama and your deficit has hugely increased because of the massive tax cuts given to the rich. I think you might be drinking the Fox News cool aid a bit too much, try perhaps more fact based independent sources, which I know are difficult in America as your media is more biased than China and we're all baffled in Europe by it.

You're currently the laughing stock of the world mate. Laughing stock of the world and you don't even realise it, joke of country. Make American hilarious to everyone else, again.

Absolute bollocks.
Everything we now are learning is pointing to Obama as having been one of worst U.S. Presidents with one of the most corrupt administrations in U.S. history. For eight years the economy sputtered, cost of living jumped (especially health insurance... my cost tripled). The national debt as posted by the goverment doubled from about nine trillion dollars to over eighteen trilion dollars. The job market was horrible. Wages were stagnant. The U.S. was constantly involved in deadly military conflicts in the Middle East and Libya. Terrorism spread through the world. All this while what we are learning now is that members under his administration enriched themselves on the backs of the American tax payer by leveraging their influence to profit from shady deals with foreign countries.

Seeing that things have dramatically reversed economically in the last two and a half years isn't a coincidence. Confidence in the U.S. economy and business investment is the highest its been in decades, highest stock market value in history, record GDP growth for two and a half years, record low unemployment (lowest in over 50 years), energy independence (U.S. exports more than they import), wages are going up, Cost of living has been very stable... not much inflation. There are more jobs in the U.S. than workers to fill them. Everywhere I look companies are looking for workers... I know this because I am always seeing employment signs everywhere I go... and people are always asking me if they know anyone who wants a job.... I don't ever remember seeing it this way ever in my lifetime.

Therefore "Mate" you have either been grossly misinformed or are incredibly naive when it comes to what is going on in the U.S.. I know because I experienced the previous eight years of near recession like conditions... and this past two and a half years has been some of the best economic years since the mid-1980s. Looking forward... It's not easy to predict what will happen in the future with the U.S. economy but despite the recent success it almost sounds like you are cheering for what you hope will be a future the demise of the U.S. economy.

As they say, you are entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts. Almost every single positive trend you mentioned started and improved more under Obama after recovery from the recession caused by Bush policies. There was no dramatic reversal after 45 was elected.

EDIT: Crap. Just noticed that this post was completely off topic to this thread.

The economic crash of 2007-2009 was mostly due to federal government policies and legislation related to government backed housing subidies and loans (read about... link - Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae) that were promoted mostly by big government leftists (who tried to promote home ownership for low income people who couldn't normally afford a home) in Congress and the Dem party. It distorted the housing market with artificial demand for housing (home purchases that weren't backed up by real quality loans) and it nearly destroyed the U.S. economy in the late Bush term.

Note: yes it is kind of off topic but it does connect to the economy and government policies that lead to our current administration and connects to where we are at today regarding economics, world trade, foreign policy, etc..

Feel free to continue this conversation in an appropriate thread. Thanks!
