Students and developers who won the lottery to attend the WWDC 2026 Special Event at Apple Park on June 8 have started receiving their invites.

Apple is holding a WWDC keynote viewing at Apple Park, but space is limited so invites were done on a lottery basis. Apple accepted submissions from those interested in attending until Monday night, and winners are now being notified.

Developers and students who won a spot will take part in an all-day event. The day will begin with the keynote viewing at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, followed by the Platforms State of the Union, Apple Park tours, and a dinner. Attendees will be able to connect with Apple engineers and experts.

Current Apple Developer Program members, Apple Developer Enterprise Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, and Swift Student Challenge winners from 2024 to 2026 were eligible to apply, with attendees chosen by random selection.

Apple does not charge a fee for the Apple Park special event, but the company does not cover transportation or lodging. Out-of-state attendees will need to purchase airfare, hotel accommodations, and transportation to Apple Park.

WWDC 2026 will take place from June 8 to June 12. Developers and students not selected to attend the Apple Park event can follow along with WWDC through Apple's developer website and app. Apple plans to share 100+ WWDC sessions that walk through all of the new features, and developers can attend interactive group labs and get one-on-one help from Apple engineers.

What is the point of attending a WWDC keynote these days? There was a time where you'd literally be witnessing history before anyone else, or at least witnessing it live like a sporting event or live concert. But watching the same pre-recorded video in a room being streamed live all over the world? Am I missing something?

Yes, hands on sessions with apple employees

I’ve been thinking about a potential 'Mac Mini Neo': a device specifically optimized for home servers and low energy consumption. By focusing on high efficiency and 'always-on' reliability, Apple could seriously disrupt the home networking and NAS markets.

It is and always has been a week of days filled with coding session and talks (usually about the new software coming out and sometimes hardware).

You’re just thinking about the introduction keynote that made the news in the past and has since become YouTuber central.

My invite must have gotten lost in the mail.
My invite got delivered to the wrong house. My mailman is so obsessed with the music he listens to through his Apple products that he delivers other people’s mail to my house. I’m telling the truth!

The labs and the direct connection/PR with the hardware manufacturers. They have labs after the event.

For me, it was a once in a lifetime experience. But I think your way of thinking is like saying "why go to a music concert when you can just listen to the song on in your house".

It may not be for everyone, but it's just incredible to see the design (in and out) of the Apple Headquarters, the Apple Park in the middle, meet fellow developers (it IS a developer conference after all), you get to see live reactions to everything.

I went in 2023 when the Apple Vision Pro was announced, and I met Craig Federighi and it was just so much fun. I think there's something about seeing reactions in person vs watching something on a TV. It's like the moment Captain America holds Thors hammer and everyone in the theater is cheering, or when you see all 3 Spider-Mans in the last Spider-Man movie, or all those Star Wars moments. You're among nerds, people like you, and unlike online, in-person is such a fun positive experience.

Mac Pro Neo 😍

You get to be in Apple Park, it’s the experience, the swag, meet developers all over the world, and the food.
