I hope there’s no new iOS update this year. iOS 12 has been fine for me and theres no need to change it

Or..... you could just choose not to update to the new one? And then the Millions of people who DO want an update will be happy as will you.

The most amazing thing about WWDC each year is this:

Apple will update iOS and macOS (along with watchOS and tvOS). They will bring new features, improvements and security enhancements to make the devices you already have work even better then they do now. Well over a billion users will have access to these updates at the same time without delays.

Yet despite this, all we'll see after the WWDC keynote is a bunch of whining and complaining about all the things Apple DIDN'T give us as opposed to all the things they DID. Further, as usual, the Android crowd will be foaming at the mouth. Because, apparently, Apple giving users updates to make their devices work better somehow makes them angry. It's like the guy across the street who gets mad at the fact you bought a new car.

I'm looking forward to WWDC and specifically iOS 13. Since iOS 12 was more about stability and performance I have high hopes for what Apple will add in iOS 13.

I remember when they used to tout their pricing against similarly equipped Windows machines. They were of the mindset that quality could be delivered, albeit on smaller margins. Now look what happens when a bean counter is steering the ship.

Since when did Apple operate on smaller margins? I can't speak to the Gil Amelio days, but at least since Steve Jobs return Apple has had much higher than normal margins. The term "Apple Tax" was even coined for the premium Apple charges for their products.

Glad iOS is finally getting a dark mode! It's definitely an overhyped feature but we've been missing it for a long time. Hopefully it'll sync with Mojave's dark mode through iCloud, so if you disable it on Mojave it'll get disabled on iOS too.

While Dark Mode will be welcomed, and is nice; if as least one of these three features isn't added iOS 13 will be a disappointment for me.

AOD (we have OLED, makes no sense not to be an option)
Split Screen (been on ipad now for at least two iOS releases)
PIP (if the NFL Network app can do it, I know Apple can)

Again, iOS 13 will be a large failure if one of these 3 isn't added as far as I'm concerned.

To be honest with you I wouldn't hold my breath for any of those 3 on iphone. Just be mentally prepared for dissapointment.

At the pace we're going, it's going to close to a decade before we see an update to the Mac Pro! We all know where Apple's priorities are at and it clearly is not the pro user anymore...

If it ships before December, that is 6 years. Not sure that counts as "close to a decade". :) In addition, in that time they have released the iMac Pro, and the high-end Mac Mini, as well as updates (including substantial ones) to all their supported Pro Applications. While I would like to see more higher end hardware support, it does seem they have started paying more attention to that community again.

Hopefully we won't have to wait until iOS 9000 to finally have iCloud mail accounts sync the read status across devices (you know, like millions of other apps do)

I don’t understand this comment. This doesn’t happen for you? Are you using third party apps or stock mail? Has worked for years on stock apps.

No, doesn’t happen for me. And supposedly I’m not the only one.

Does your email end in @icloud.com?

I use iCloud email address with Apple’s native Mail app on iPhone.

When I read new mail on Mac, Mail app on iPhone still shows the unread badge and it never goes away, even though the mail has been read. It only goes away when I re-open the Mail app or when I manually refresh the Mail app.

Do you mind recording a video of your Mac Mail app and iPhone Mail app in action and posting it on YouTube?

Mac Pro 2013 died yesterday :(, had to buy a Mac Mini today to hold me... I can almost guarantee the Mac Pro will come out in 11 days, it just the way it works. Heres hoping for something!

It will ship in 15 days, so you are out of the return period. :-(

Really? What’s so great about this?

the build one is just absolutely boring, and I cant even tell what the first one is supposed to say, iolp? At first my mind saw VOIP, but that doesnt make sense.

The only thing I want is iPad mouse supports, couldn’t care less about the new emojis and other junk.

That would truly be a seismic shift...it would blow my mind if they did this (like the unicorn, ha). I think it's only a matter of time, but I am truly pessimistic on the actual time frame we will be seeing this, if ever.

Still using Día de Muertos themed art months later. Dead association doesn't seem appropriate.

AoD unlikely since iPhone lineup battery life is already subpar with the exception of maybe one that unfortunately has a LCD.

Split Screen and PiP are unlikely due to upsell of companion iPad.

Tim walks on the stage pumping up the big reveal. "Think about it... dark mode, emoji... Dark mode, emoji!... Thats right, all our emoji will also be available in dark mode... DARK MODE EMOJI ARE FINALLY HERE! And I'd like to invite Fred Federighi up on the stage to show them all to you. Fred?"

Let’s see the rain of angry comments on Emojis and Animojis and how Tim (Apple) is ruining their beloved company.
Having said that, that’s a cute unicorn.

When you have MBP keyboard fiasco, sudden MBP release with 3rd iteration of keyboard fix that almost fixes it and wrapped in 8-core sweetener, almost abandoned Mac Pro, abandoned displays and quietly selling other brand monitors, abandoned AirPort, almost stagnating innovation for years... and they repeatedly year after year come on the stage to talk about the ****ing emoji and thinness, yeah, it's kinda like that.

Alan, it was kind of meant as a tongue-in-cheek comment since 2013 was the last update and it very well could be 2020 before it reaches anyone. Yes, Apple did give us the iMac Pro and I was very thankful for that and I bought a fully-loaded maxed out version to support the work I do. It works great and is a fantastic workhorse.

On a serious note, I do appreciate that Apple is actively seeking feedback from high-end pros and taking their time to (hopefully) design it right. So while steps are being taken now, I just wish that Apple did not wait so many years to do so. Hopefully things will change from here forward.

That's interesting. I didn't know this was a problem for some. I will try. I am not a big youtube poster. I did just do it again to make sure I'm not nuts. If I read an email in either Mac, iPad or iPhone, then it shows up as READ in all others. If I then mark it UNREAD again, they all become UNREAD

iPhone-to-Mac sync works just fine.
It’s the Mac-to-iPhone sync that doesn’t work.

Could you do the following and report back?

1. Make sure that your iCloud mail account on iPhone is configured to Push new mail, NOT Fetch new mail.
2. Make sure that your email address ends in either @icloud.com, @mac.com, or @me.com.
3. Make sure that Mail app on iPhone is NOT open.
4. Make sure that iPhone is NOT on WiFi and is NOT connected to power but stays on (with homescreen visible) throughout the test.
5. Receive a new mail and make sure that both Mac and iPhone show new mail badge. DO NOT open Mail app on iPhone.
6. Open Mail app on Mac and read the mail. Make sure that it’s read or marked as read.
7. Now look at the Mail app icon on iPhone but do NOT open the app. Is the new mail badge gone?

Please follow these instructions carefully.
