Hi all,

I ordered a new iPad Pro m5 11, and Apple sent it to Chicago rather than my city and state via UPS. I contacted Apple Support via iMessage, and they verified my address, but failed to resolve anything. They then told me the iPad was being sent back to Apple's warehouse, and would issue me a new shipment. I triple checked my address with Apple Support, and for some reason they sent it to Chicago, rather than my address, I have no idea why.

A couple of days later I checked the order status page, and it says I need to ship it back to Apple for them to release my replacement iPad. I contacted Apple Support yet again, and they have told me I need to file a police report, and file a credit card dispute (with my Apple card lol). This is completely absurd and ridiculous. Nobody seems to be able to ship me the iPad I ordered. Am I better off going to my closest Apple Store, and giving them all of the details? Has anyone had this happen before?

Thanks.

I doubt that anyone at an Apple Store could resolve this with you. They would have to deal with the same department that shipped the iPad to the wrong location that you have been in contact with. Be persistent, and they'll eventually get it right. Next time, to make the purchase, go to a store.

Initially thought your data was compromised and sent to a Chicago address by a bad actor. Then I read that Apple was sending it to their warehouse so this eludes to the iPP not having been received by anyone or the recipient in Chicago rejected the package or couldn't authenticate the purchase. Surely Apple can view the shipping logs?
