Hello

I just got a used Apple Series 3 watch. When I try to pair it to my iPhone 7 to begin the setup process, it says there's an update. When I click ok, the phone brings up a message saying it's not connected to the internet - even though it is.

I tried the following so far:
- Change language and regions on the phone
- Reset network settings on the phone
- Uninstall and reinstall the watch application
- Tried my cell phone connection, my apartment's connection, and a wifi connection at Starbucks.

Is there any other options?

Thanks :)

Can you bypass that during setup process? Or your iPhone runs much newer software?

I just tried on wifi. Still no luck.
Hang in there.... I hard resetted the watch over a dozen times and also canceled/retried the update process a lot of times... eventually it pulled through - but it was a painfully long process
I'm not sure if the Wifi had anything to do with it... I tried a lot of stuff in my desperation ;-)

Will I have to do this every time I update my watch?

I had this happen on a series 5. Ended up having to sent it back. The replacement one worked fine straight away. It was a complete PITA.

Update. I returned the watch to the person I brought it from. He tried downloading the update from my phone using his wifi, on my phone (iPhone 7) and it didn't work. He tried downloading the update using his phone (iPhone X) and it worked. He's now updating it. It *should* work when I pick it up.
