went on the net to buy my first apple computer today, i wanted to pay via wire transfer rather than credit, so i had to phone. okay, i did, and everything went all right, guy said he'd send me an email with all the details asap. okay, i go to bed, 12 hours later still no email. i had to call to get the info, so then they give me the info and i go to the bank to wire themy money. bank tells me that i'm missing info, this is the same bank the apple account uses. so i call again, and for an hour i'm back and forth between being put on hold until finally guy tells me he knows of no other info. so i go back to the bank, they tell me they've put the money through, they're 100% sure apple received the money, they're not sure whether they know its from me, they tell me to call apple to make sure. they say the money should have went through right away because its the same bank. they also say apple should give better instructions. so I call apple again, some woman picks up and asks me for my order #, i tell her, she can't find it. I tell her its a wire, and she says oh can't help you and hangs the hell up! so i call again, this time another girl picks up, and after 5 minutes gives up and forwards me to apple frickin care. So I hang up, and call again, this time another woman helps me out, sends me to some guy. he looks for my order, can't find it, tells me he'll call me tonight at an exact time to tell me whats going on. NO CALL!

what the hell is this? what am i paying premium for exactly? I can't even get service when I WANT TO GIVE THEM MONEY! i don't know, im pretty pissed off right now, maybe i should just go back to pc. does anyone know any other way i can get competent service? perhaps email is better or something, i don't know. right now no one can find my order number, and im short 3500 bucks. this is absolute ********.

    vent, vent.

I didn't even know there were mail order houses that still accepted a wire. They're just not used to handling such an unusual transaction, and thats not your fault. I wouldn't blame the L1 techs for being undertrained either. Its just the state of the industry. Keep calling until somebody sorts it out. Make sure to ask for a superior if you aren't getting anywhere with a callcenter grunt.

if i really want an apple, no. but right now i really don't know what will. never would I believe it would be so hard trying to actually give people money. I'm just really frustrated right now, by this whole fiasco. and i don't know if its the heat of the moment talking, perhaps so, but i'm starting to feel the whole thing is an elaborate facade. The saying is you get what you pay for, right now I'm getting absolutely nothing. shouldn't they be trying to actually help me pay them? i mean, whats going to happen if... IF i get my computer and it, knock on wood, doesn't work? I was really excited and now its all gone to hell.

its not even a wire transfer anymore though. since it is the same bank, it is a direct transfer. though i see what you are saying, I would've thought since they offered the service there'd be, well, ample service for it.

It'll mostly be the heat of the moment, you should continue chasing it up, as mentioned above, as it's an odd payment system that really isn't used much, but I think you also need some tome to just cool off.

Maybe after a cool-off period, they'll have got their act together. It's probably waiting on some real paperwork to get moved along ;)

lets hope so. i just have this really dreadful feeling, the people can't even find my order number/account for crying out loud. Is this really going to be one of those exercises in phone tag.... ugh. i can handle that for many things, but for such a relatively expensive piece of equipment I really did, maybe sadly, expect more. maybe they should have an asterisk next to wire order - will maybe not work.
