I'm all for new stores, but next to each other? that's just weird. Wouldn't if they opened another store a couple of city's away still lower traffic at the other, yet make it more accessible to others?

I love apple and all, but it sounds like starbucks or something when its opening stores that close to each other. Then again, they probably know what they are doing a lot better.

Perhaps it's really an expansion, and the first one will close at some point in the near future.

Speaking of which, would that make Glendale the first Apple Store to ever close? I'm pretty sure we've never seen an Apple Store fail and go out of business.

It's quite amazing how much demand there is for Apple products internationally. There is still so much opportunity for Apple stores all over the world. Will Apple stock ever stop rising? That's the question. ;)

We still haven't any Apple Stores in Greece...

Last I heard, greece's economy was a shambles. I wouldn't expect you guys to be at the top of their priority list, if this is still the case.

Awesome. I live by Conestoga Mall! I even saw the apple barrier-like things and was like "Oh, neat"
I'll go take pictures, if anyone likes. I have to fix my phone anyway. lol

Fashion place Apple store will be very welcome. The gateway store is always so packed so it should relieve some of the pressure put on that store to supply all of Utah!! I think they should of put it at Southtowne in sandy Utah instead but that's my personal opinion.

i like the new glendale apple store, attended the grand opening and it was a great experience its nice having two apple stores right across from each other. the americana one is HUGE

i think they are just opening stores in places that they already have stores and they just forget the other countries that they don't even have one :(
I think you are right.
A big shame really! Especially knowing how high demand there is for Apple products, and how many of the local dealers suck big time.

Nice. A crowded apple store in RIM's backyard, maybe it'll wake Mike and Jim up..

strange that they have not mentioned the Apple store going into Mapleview Mall in Burlington, Ontario. That would make 6.

Grand Traverse Mall has CityMac, one of the best indie Apple stores I've ever seen. Most little towns the size of TC would be lucky to have a store like that.
I know we have City Mac, but they don't do iOS device repairs and stuff, so it's hard to find someone to be able to do that (Apple-approved at least) without going to Grand Rapids or going through the long mail-in process. :/ Oh well, my parents just bought a new business in Novi, where there's an Apple Store, so it will actually be possible to get stuff like that done now. :)

Middle East?

What about Apple (Retail) Stores in the Middle East, especially the GCC countries? I've been waiting for one for many years cuz I don't like how resellers here are ripping people off! (base 17" MBP = 980 KD = about $3,594:eek:)

In addition, the Somerset Apple Store in Troy, Michigan has been temporarily relocated while they build a new store. Ironically, the temp store is occupying a store previously occupied by Sony Style.

Is there any worthwhile reason to go to a new Apple Store on opening day?

Specials? Discounts? Free T- Shirts, anything?

The email I got from Apple today re the Conestoga (Waterloo) opening said that the first 1000 customers will get a free T-Shirt.

To be considered as a customer for this, do you just have to enter the store, or do you have to buy something?

A true Applenonian would go without any freebies being handed out. It's the right thing to do to make Steve happy.

Yeah. That's where I stand, too.
