I’m interested to see how they’ll navigate the following 12-months.
I’s one [impressive] thing to commit to a $6B launch. It’s an entirely different ball of wax to build momentum over time to cement oneself a legit player in this ridiculously competitive category. It would seem a hard nut to crack, but one that could prove important in the continuing battle for your eyeballs and wallet.

My popcorn is ready.

Given the complete and total neglect of Apple News+ after the launch, really struggling to believe in Apple TV+.

Well get ready then. Within the first year, Apple TV + will undeniably become the largest, by far, video streaming service in the world with about a quarter of a BILLION people on it. Being number 1 is not Apple's goal, as it never is, but the way they set it up was ingenious with an inexpensive monthly subscription to high quality content, and then giving away a couple hundred million annual memberships. Apple already has the funds to get most any content they want, but having a previously unimaginable number of subscribers will drive even more directors, actors, etc., to want to make content for that audience. Ingenious strategy.

Won't be a hard nut at all for Apple. Momentum is not something they need to worry about. It is guaranteed the way they set it up with a couple hundred million free subscriptions and tens of millions more paid on top of that. They will start out their first year having more subscribers than every other competitor combined. It's clear that they are going to focus on the high quality content, as HBO used to do, but Apple will do it on a bigger scale.

Besides the quality, the real quantity is what I am worry about. Can Apple ensure to keep releasing a few TV series / shows every year?

What are you talking about? In just what has leaked/been announced they already have about 40 of them and they keep adding more.

I don’t see very many people going to see the above in a theatre. Why would anyone pAy go see programmes/film which only appeal to a limited few. There just general IK programmes nothing special. Apple it’s wonderful you do all this arty farty stuff - but it won’t bring in revenue

Lol funny how some would think that way, artsy stuff not bringing in revenue.

have you not looked at Apple original logo, you know before the one that only represents their name?!

Apple’s primary market no longer is education, but in studio arts: audio, print and visual arts.

from the commercials that reinforce the brands representation and brand name recognition to the design of their products and UIs all artsy.

The trend away from cable based TV to internet has long become that standard. Look around.

Banker sounds interesting. I'd go see it.

I also seem to not be a millennial or someone who doesn't appreciate the theater experience, so there's that.

A quarter billion people will have access to it for free because they're buying Apple hardware regardless of TV+. I'm not sure how have 250 million free users whether they want the service or not counts for anything.

LOL. If only half of them watch it, an unlikely low event with the tremendous advertising and publicity for their shows and integration with their devices, it would still be the largest streaming service in the world. Plus, at only $4.99 there will be many millions of people subscribing. What all that means is that Apple will conservatively be generating billions in direct revenue at the nascent stage, and that will only grow as shows get talked about and people convert to paid subscriptions. Producers, actors, etc., will want even more to work for Apple; the ecosystem will be even more valuable, etc.
