Howdy bunty07,

Not that this excuses the issues with the AirPods and AirPods Pro, but you may be able to mitigate it. I had a pair of the original AirPods, ironically purchased because of my defective PowerBeats 2, which after about 3 months, would randomly seem to drain the left AirPod. I would use it, put it in the case, go to it the next day, and it would be completely dead. I went through Apple, first replacing the individual AirPod, and then just after the year warranty expired, they replaced the charging case. Both replacements solved for a little while, but the issue always came back, sometimes swapping between the left and right one being the drained one. Due to this, I eventually "upgraded" to the AirPods Pro, and afterwards, I discovred what was causing my issue. It seems over time, the contacts on either the AirPod, or the socket in the case get "dirty" (you can't see anything, so not sure what it is), and no longer makes good contact with the stem, causing battery to drain. The solution, is to take a cotton swab (q-tip) dipped in Isopropyl Alcohol and gently wipe the contacts inside the case. Be careful, and don't use so much that it drips. Let it dry (should only take a couple of minutes at most), and the AirPod should work normally again. After I started routinely cleaning the cases, this issue went away. Good luck!

Rich S.
Thanks, I’m glad yours is working, I will try it and see if it works!

Are you kidding me? I’ve replaced MULTIPLE beats for this very reason. I had no idea this was an everyone problem. :(

My first pair of BeatsX died in 11 months after minimal use. It would no longer connect over BT. My replacement pair quit working after 9 months. They won’t turn on anymore. I won’t purchase or recommend any Apple/Beats audio products.

finally I'll get closure to this and get my $1.95 check in the mail. Thank goodness
I’m curious, maybe someone knows... how much are those attorneys fees and related costs for this settlement?

Not trying to defend Apple, it’s just that I don’t trust lawyers either and instances where fees, penalties, fines, etc go “somewhere” (i.e ‘you have breached the consumer’s trust, you shall be fined $20M paid to us’ and not the breached costumers)

I got two of them and then after Beats X. They all have the same issues... not really sweat resistant. There are even videos online on how to seal it at your own risk.

Same, either that, or one earphone side stops emitting sound or it stops charging.

I have decided to give the AirPods Pro a chance because they are incredibly convenient... let’s see if it goes over that 9months to a year threshold.

I joined the lawsuit. I went through several pair, including replacements under warranty until I finally smartened up and purchased some Jaybird X3's. Those still work though with decrease battery life after four, five day a week usage after a couple of years.

Me too. Even sent in a receipt. The $1.95 check in the mail comment was funny.
My third and final replacement is sitting unused on my desk. My AirPods are close to joining them as they can hardly sustain a 15 minute phone call any longer.

I’ve actually given beats/apple a second chance with Powerbeats 4. So far so good allthough I’m only 3 months in. But if they fail like my beats x and apples next Iphone comes without a charger and prices keep going up on their products and quality goes down. I’m out. I’m really keeping my fingers crossed. This won’t continue. Since I have the whole apple eco system (macbooks, ipads, Apple TV’s homepods and iPhones) and subscribing to all of apple’s services except Apple Arcade.
