Attendees also participated in a singing of "Happy Birthday" to the absent CEO, who celebrated his 54th birthday yesterday.
Yea...its like pray to "our" god "big steve". Kinda pathetic since you should sing that when person is present.

This is all I could think of when I heard that...
I do agree. The whole thing sounds so "1984". Kinda scary.![]()
Wrong board for this one. Round these parts, the kool aid flows out of the faucets.
So does the cynicism.
I can see why they ban all electronic devices from their meetings.
I can, too: Apple is the new MS.
Is it HIS company?I doubt that it's a publicity stunt, but if Steve feels well enough and if the product is groundbreaking enough, I think shareholders would be very pleased to see him give a presentation in June. I think Steve, himself, would be pleased to be back on stage giving a presentation. It is his company, after all.
Only you have to admit that Apple is becoming more bizarre then MS and that says a lot when you think back to some of the things Ballmer has said or done.
Arguing about who is a socialist at a shareholder meeting and singing Happy Birthday to their holy leader who is absent? Sorry that borders on wacky to me.
It's scary. They do that in North Korea for the glorious leader.
I have an XPS notebook running 64bit Vista and besides playing Crysis, Bioshock, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Fallout 3, I use it to surf sites that I can't with my Powerbook G4. The biometric finger print reader's kewl... I don't have to worry about memorizing passwords. Only reason why I got it was because I got 2.9k USD off from a buddy of mine from the company who has the hookups.but other than that, I agree w/ ya 99.9% *just sayin'*
Is it HIS company?
I thought that Apple's shareholders actually owned it.
No one notices or comments on the fact that the shareholders propositions that were opposed by the board of directors... all revolve around keeping them honest?
1. executive compensation limits - shot down (its "your" money..except not, its really our money)
2. political donation disclosure - who are you lobbying for and why (something shareholders should be aware of, if they are not, then its a secret and for bad reason)
3. carbon footprint - what a joke, they laughed this one off remembering who it is asking such a thing...silly people who believe nutbags like al gore.
4. universal health care - probably the number one thing keeping people alive past 40 today is health care, and yet we can barely maintain it.
This is what I thought of
shudder all hail the Great Absent Leader. Apple just gets weirder and weirder

I do agree.
Cupertino is acquiring a surreal, almost Jonestown feeling about it.![]()
The lights go dim and Steve walks back out on stage carrying a large pitcher of Kool Aid and says "one more thing"
In a few minutes we will be passing out the new iCups so drink up folks.
LOL you fools!
I guess these boards are no longer moderated.
Too Steve? Whom else are you proposing a toast to?I propose a toast.
Too Steve!
