Apple recently uploaded four new videos to its United Kingdom YouTube site, all of which focus on highlighting its latest accessory, the AirPods.

Each of the four videos, which are between 16 and 17 seconds long, feature the AirPods positioned as musical notes set to music by UK artists. Featured artists include Lianne La Havas, Craig David, The 1975, and Marian Hill.

Apple's UK specific AirPods ads come as the company is rumored to be shifting towards regionally-focused digital and social media ad campaigns instead of broader TV-focused campaigns translated for global markets.

Apple has been focusing on sharing 15-second videos appropriate for social media in recent weeks, and the company recently released a video unique to its Brazilian YouTube channel, which focuses on showing off the iPhone 7 Plus's photo taking capabilities at Carnival, an annual Brazilian festival.

I think Apple needs to re-evaluate their marketing strategy here, these ads are embarrassing. Not as good as they usually are. Someone dropped the ball.

Other than the new iPad commercials, Apple ads are as good as ever.
Love whomever is doing the photo and AirPod ads.

Uh huh....

Perhaps Apple should invest that ad money on increasing their production capacity, given how they can't even meet current demand at this point without the ads. My local apple store was restocked for the first time since launch last week. They got three. Launch day they got one.

What's up with the notation of the meter? It's completely wrong and ruins the ads. If you're going to invoke music notation at least get the basics right. /sigh

Completely agree. My local store(s) keeps pushing back the availability date - now showing April 11. This is the 4th time. There are other options out there - seems Apple wants me to go explore them...

Very good ads, perfectly Apple-y.

what's a "notation of the meter"?

It's how music is traditionally written to display the rhythmic structure. The number of beats per bar (or quarter notes per measure to use the American vernacular) should be the same - unless you are changing time signature (not the case here). It's all over the place. All the pieces of music are in 4/4. As each Airpod is depicted as being equal to one beat, then obviously there should be 4 per bar (or 4 crotchets per bar). Some have 6, some have 5, and it's not even consistent within each ad. Terribly lazy! I can't bear to watch it.

Right, I get it. But you're probably in a very, very narrow minority, whereas all others would have perceived as "wrong" the asymmetry of the "correct" version.

I like the Marian Hill one, spot on :D...classic apple ad
Yup. Marian Hill is currently tops in my wife's playlist. I like the band (group? duo?) as well. Very smooth music. Even more interesting is the dancer in the video. Lil Buck. They guy incorporates a mix of street and ballet dance styles to create something different. The abuse he puts on his ankles borders on masochism.

Didn't know where to ask this buy, my sister is in NYC at the moment and is getting me some AirPods. I'm in the UK. If I don't like them can I return to Apple over here?
