'sad trombone' It was a fun ad, the mom was killing it on the sideline keeping up with the runners wanting to capture her son running a race. The point is the steady shot, not that she should be taking the moment in in person. Ha.

Disadvantage with action mode is the heavy cropping, which you don't get with a gimbal.

Very true, but the problem is you can’t always keep a gimbal in your pocket. For those little moments when you need it, it’s very handy.

They are showcasing what you can do with current technology. Users of older devices know what they have and are practical users most likely uninterested in the newer features. You can get a new device for nearly nothing with promos if they want a new one but many people just dont mind older phones. If their case is budget, yea, thats unfortunate.

I record all these events for when I get old and feeble of mind so I can watch them and hopefully remember the good times as my brain slowly atrophies.

Also so I don't bug my wife to the point of divorce at age 80+ by asking "who was that?" "Did we ever go to..." "How many kids did we have?"

Action mode is insane. I held my iPhone 11 Pro and my 14 Pro side by side in my hands and sprinted down an alley way. The 11 pro was all over the place and the 14 looked like it was filmed on a smooth drone shot just gliding forward. It was incredible.
