Funny ad, but ugh... Using "bokeh" as a verb? How much of the general public even knows what the term "bokeh" means?

It's not even legitimate bokeh... let my A7iii with an 85mm show you how that's done.

Nobody cares.

Certainly not Apple's intended audience. Who are not camera gear nerds slinging f/1.4 aperture lenses trying to look bad-ass, but only mange to produce mediocre photos lacking power cuz in their minds photography is all about owning cool-looking gear, rather than making compelling photographs.

Brilliant ad.
Perfectly acted.
Re-watched it 3 times.

cuts through the heart of what the "offended" mother's social being is all about.
a glimpse into a clichéd and humorless part of 2019 America.

apple, "at the intersection of technology and the humanities."

If you watch the ad from the perspective of someone who doesn't know what bokeh is, you'll see that the ad is in fact teaching them the word and what it means. Description, visual association, demonstration, repetition, repetition, repetition.

I hope they are working on low light photography, because google is miles ahead with their Night Sight
Xs takes great low light photos. Simply there is no "night sight" mode but I suppose most iOS users will survive for this missing feature.

Quite a classy ad, showing Apple cares about human consequences of tech, using humour well as a conversation starter. I don't know how well it translates across the world, but it would still be great to see more like this style.

So many criticisms of the commercial, but none that they pronounce bokeh incorrectly.

Their commercials have been pretty good lately, this one and the Elvis one. I got tired of creepy floating hands touching iThings to music.

Now that is the epitome of a feature that there is not a good enough reason why it is not supported on iphone X and you have to resort to 3rd party apps like focos...

That toy Sony doesn’t give out legitimate bokeh. Let my Fuji GX680 and 180/3,2 show you how it’s done. Or my Hasselblad cx503i and 110/2 show you how it’s done.

Oh, and both are digital with modular back systems. So suck it with your pitiful plays at superiority. And

Toy Sony’s...

Yes please. And turn it on and off at will, to show to people before and after bokeh, from that nice huge camera screen
