Before I watched this, I thought AirPods Pro were the new over-the-ear headphones. I guess because Pro sounds like the most expensive and is the most expensive in Apple's other product lines.

I did know the difference; I just forgot. But it doesn't speak to a great naming scheme. The AirPods and AirPods Pro look nearly identical (and apparently will look even more identical soon). And the ones I was thinking in my head were Pro I at first mistakenly thought, "Oh those must be the AirPods Max Pro" (again the cost and high quality etc)—but nope, just Max.

Again this is coming from someone who did know all of these. The names aren't semantic enough to be memorable.
Indeed it is confusing. It’s reminiscent of XBOX’s naming scheme.

That was fun. My favourite Apple ad of recent years still remains the “This Watch Tells Time“ made for the series 5 Apple Watch.

There will be AirPods Pro refresh~

From all the rumours I've seen so far, these are AirPods refresh, not AirPods "pro" refresh. Might even be a third category that sits in middle. Supposedly no noise cancellation, and also no rubber seals for passive cancellation.

Exactly. As was stated in the article, they will not feature noise cancellation. Seriously LOL? New product, but inferior. Cool.
Apparently they're more of a refresh for normal AirPods than the Pros. Which makes sense so they can have both of the models (normal and pro) looking similar, with Pros having more features (rubber seals and noise cancellation). These are almost certainly gonna be priced near to the outgoing AirPods with wireless case.

They should price the AirPods 2 at 99€ otherwise they’ll keep losing market share...

That makes sense, I guess. However, why have the AirPods Pro been on sale and dropping in price everywhere? That usually doesn’t happen unless it’s being replaced or discontinued.

I haven't seen the ad, but can imagine, niche music to slick visuals and then the punchline, lest we forget the logo.

A few years ago this style of advertising was smart, effective and clever. Now, every man and his dog does it. Hell, even the supermarkets are using the same tactics.

Whilst I can't fault the product. Apple's marketing needs a rethink. It's a little tired, dated and predictable IMHO.

AirPods Pro are the worst Apple product I’ve ever owned. I want my money back!
If they are falling out, like they do for me, you can buy cheap rubber thingies on amazon. With these they will stuck in your ears on matter what you do. Oh, and also disable auto ear recognition, that doesn't work either.

Best ads are when you don’t need to show the product but just the feelings you associate with using it.

I prefer the original AirPods, although they don't stay in your ears too well.

The one reason I didn't like on the AirPods Pro is the gel cushions. True, they block external noise and provide better grip, but after a couple hours of use, my internal ears would be on fire. And this feels like it will make my ears more prompt to infections.

I really liked the ad, in the technical sense. Well made. I wonder if the actor can really do all those tricks in real life (Some people really can do these things!).

That's generally a difficult position given keyboard issues of late, and some prior release failures.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just upgraded from a first gen AirPod set on Friday, and consider them to be the best wireless earbuds I've tried. I also wear a plantronics bluetooth voyager earpiece all day, so maybe my experience is different. For me, the sound quality is vastly improved over either, transparency mode is the true gem when I do my daily run, and appreciate the two additional actions I can summon from the buttons. Surely someone will buy those buds off of Craigslist, or eBay if you're frustrated with them.

I've found poor Apple products generally tend to be first entry points in hardware design change, and typically must wait out for a rev b version for the under the hood manufacturing\engineering defects. Only other bits that were bad out of the gate I think have been mice, and the recent Apple TV remote. For myself, it has often been those products with long in tooth hardware in them, like so many entry level iMac\Macbooks with 5400 or slower RPM drives and low RAM with SSDs readily available.

Do you have a link to what you bought? I am a runner and they fall out all the time, unlike in this video. I purchased ear-loops but they actually make it worse by pulling the AirPod Pros from my ears. I have also tried 3rd party foam tips which seem to help but still not a great solution.

Loctite Super Glue might help!
DISCLAIMER: Okay don't do it, I bet few people in here would. and then blame me! :D

Do they really fit some people's ears so well that they don't fall out when they jump? Mine fall off if I move my head too quickly 😒

Feels like you should be telling Apple about your issues, and asking them for a refund. Nobody here is going to be able to help you.

For what its worth, I absolutely love my AirPod pro's, and I really didn't want to, coming from a pair of Shure 550's. I've got the Max also and I really dig it.

I think I have awful looking ears. They stick out. If there was ever one thing I could change about my appearance, they would be the number one thing. But, standard medium tipped AirPod Pros fit perfect. Jumping, forward rolls... they aren't falling out. The day is finally mine.

Lol, if the article title starting with the 3 words “Apple Shares Jump” is an accident, I’ll eat my hat! 🤣
