Flying cars? So in the future iPhones will still look the same and have years old features

:D

Two constants you should count on: Elvis fans aren’t going away, and future iPhones are certain to at least be thinner, because thinner is better. And larger because larger is better. Even though thinner is the opposite of larger. So, sometimes smaller is better. But clearly nobody wants a smaller SE sized iphone so sometimes smaller is not better. Unless we’re talking thinner iPhones than last year. Which are likely also larger than last year. Yeah.

I see a LOT of potential for Group FaceTime in the business and education market, along with just personal use. I might not need 32 at once, but it sure is nice when out of town and want to see the whole family versus having them cram into frame as they want to "see".

Very practical in business and education as iOS expands it's footprint.

Outstanding post. I don’t have a user group FaceTime within my realm, but this will be huge for companies across the board were they can congregate together and they can connect through iOS devices and still have the ability to see each other versus using some third party workaround, I see Group FaceTime basically elimiantomg ‘conference type calls’.

Great ad! I chuckled out loud a couple of times, and raised my eyebrows at the attractiveness of one particular Elvis (and there’s a phrase I wouldn’t have thought I’d say).

I just realized we should have used it on Thanksgiving, when a lot of my family was back east eating in two locations, and I was in SoCal. More than half of my family have iPhones and/or iPads, and we did group iMessages with pics, but none of us thought of a Group FaceTime. Doh!

And in updating FaceTime, Apple made the user interface worse, now requiring several touches to flip the camera around and hiding the view with the interface so you have to hide it to see if it flipped. If not, you have to repeat the process.

It is fixed in the next version of iOS.

You are quick to conclude that FaceTime is the problem. Where are A, B and C located geographically? The internet is a giant, decentralized network, and routers are responsible for sending packets from A to C through what they figure are the best channels. Each router along the path joins together "hops".

Use the `traceroute`tool to observe the hops between A, B and C respectively. You might find that A-C are having timeout issues, and that has nothing to do with FaceTime.

You are just trying to stir the pot, be a rebel, etc... or you would have explained *why* you think that.

Excellent reply. Now if only Apple can add some form of pre-connection diagnostic so user can see which particular party will experience lack / problem. That would be nice.

Apple today shared a new ad that focuses on the recently introduced Group FaceTime feature, designed to allow iOS and Mac users to chat with up to 32 people at one time.

The video, entitled "A Little Company," features a bunch of different Elvis impersonators on a Group FaceTime call singing the song "There's Always Me" by Elvis Presley.

The video shows off the tiled interface that's used with Group FaceTime, designed to highlight the person who is speaking at the current time.

Group FaceTime also has a feature that lets you use Animoji, Memoji, and filters during your video chats, but that option is not shown off in today's video.

Group FaceTime was introduced as a main feature in the iOS 12 beta, but it was not ready for iOS 12's September launch so Apple temporarily removed it. Group FaceTime was re-released in iOS 12.1, which Apple launched in late October.

Does group FaceTime work for both FaceTime audio AND FaceTime video or just FaceTime video?
