Idiot that I am I just picked up iPhone 14 instead of the 13. Virtually no difference between the two. ......Except the price. 😭

Or, we're just busy doing real work to make money to make ends meet these day. Priorities. ;)

Yes, you made my point. It need not be one (working) or the other (flexing one's imagination).

Never was for me, anyway.

Very creative!

Instead of the Chicken Rooster 🐓, Apple should have used Roadrunner to capture the shots with the iPhone Pro camera.

If a producer/director has enough money to rent a helicopter for a shot, is he really going to use an iPhone to capture video?

I hope that such poor ads selling cheap fairies will not help them sell more units. They could easily shift to two years products release cycle and it wouldn't make much difference for people. The products have minimal changes and innovations. Most of this splendor and awe is a marketing garbage.
They make hundreds of changes they don’t even mention every year. Well, except as a screenshot during the reveal. Most people are naturally on a 2-3 year cycle so Apple’s cadence works.

Love the creative setups. Hopefully this will inspire creators as they start their cinematic journey. The iPhone is a great tool for turning concepts into a reality (as an exercise) and I have definitely spent countless hours enjoying ig/tik tok/youtube content made with iPhones. But I always get a laugh out of seeing so much money spent marketing a tool that is so woefully ill-equipped to handle the task it's purportedly capable of: capturing actual cinematic content. No one in their right mind would use an iPhone with a production budget like that. While I'm sure most people watching know the iPhone is clearly the wrong tool for the job on this conceptual "set" and (as others have mentioned) that is likely not the ad's intended message, I do wish apple would tone down the overinflated usefulness of "shot on iPhone" content. It's an incredible camera for countless situations...none of which are represented here lol.

On one of the shots it looked like they were filming Horizon with Aloy? Well kinda looked like her hehe 😅

I took some photos of text today with my 13 pro and a 14 pro in an Apple shop, and wow, the 14pro had so much noise and sharpening that made the text unreadable on the 14pro. I was going to buy it, but it was much worse that my my 13Pro that I was heart broken. I can’t believe it is a downgrade of camera… :(

My favorite part is the clarity of the 8k video. Just stunning.

Oh wait...

Definitely uploading it only in 1080p was a genius move too. The entire video looked soft and blurry. You do know we can view up to 4 and even 8k on chrome, right?

This ad was made by professionals. You may own the same phone, but don't expect the same results. It's like using a flying simulation game then thinking you can get into the cockpit of a real plane. Seriously. Don't be fooled into thinking that any of this is easy to do with a few minutes you want to kill.

I think it will be never equal than full frame or cinema cameras regarding quality and features (the physical rules are tough enough). I made some videos in my life, one time I had to use my 11 pro max for some additional clip arts... let it go. But the folks need the show, so they get it.

Animal cruelty, violence, stereotyping, cultural appropriation. I know I am probably gonna get censored for this. But if Apple is gonna punish people for crude jokes, it needs to be sensitive to how it presents other topics about how it sells its products.
I did not see any cultural appropriation. Some stereotyping. Violence is as American as apple pie. The chicken didn’t get eaten. I did spot a humorless poster.

Great advert. Certainly convinced me this iPhone has a lot of technology I will never ever need to pay for.

Did it need a disclaimer saying "No animals were harmed in this production"? I thought that goes without saying.

At the end of the day, did your Father, grand parents or great grand parents have access to anything better? The big picture here is you can capture high quality video that will look good 70 years from now. Looks at Queens coronation video. That was recorded on state of the art for the time, yet it looks like it came off a iPhone 3GS.

Add on post production editing and effects, this can be even better.
