I did not buy anything from Apple for a while now. Last 2013 mac book pro. Everything I have is ancient, they rolling $ hit after $ hit. Apple pencil, yeah half of the functionality that was promised is not even implemented. Home pod, MEH. New iMac Pro. WTF. iPhone X to big and so on and on....... in 4 days maybe they announce new Fix to iOS and OSX problems. Every update = less features and more advertisements. Did you also notice, that nowadays when you want to use an app, you must register it on Facebook? What is wrong with that? Advertisements all over this planets, It is not banners anymore now it is full scale videos. FIX IT>

I love Apple's commercials for their sound, cinemetography, and showcase of their tech

BUT....

EVERY SINGLE OF ONE OF THEM DOES SOMETHING THAT MAKES MY PEDANTIC MENTALLY DEFICIENT BRAIN SCREAM ABOUT HOW NONSENSICLE SOMETHING IS!

the last commercial showed that womans face unlocking EVERYONE ELSES LOCKERS

THIS ONE shows him using Face ID and Apple pay to pay for things in a COMPLETELY OFFLINE STREET MARKET! (You can even see that none of the registers in the market are digital!)

I know, I'm being pedantic. But they just completely break down the quality for me. it's basically IMHO borderline false advertising.

YES, Apple Pay is convenient and where it works, NFC based payments is fantastic... But, this commercial shows him just randomly "paying" without any terminals, or even vendor being talked to.

This ad looks awesome but it would freak the hell out of me if it was that easy for me to approve a purchase on my credit card.

In the ad it appears that he looks at something, looks at his phone which for some reason is showing his credit card, and now he has approved the purchase. Thats supposed to be good?
So do you really think that’s how it works? Did you not see the terminal where he had to pay

Sir this is not apples doing nor
Problem... ads and FB connectivity are based upon agreements between those two companies not Apple. Which update took away features? iPhone X = 2 big??? It’s smaller than the 7 & 8+

You need a girlfriend if you can’t see that clearly any normal rational educated human can see that a terminal was used initially but it is not always needed specifically when ordering online... you look at the merch, look at your phone and click BOOM it’s purchased... this commercial nails it

Oh how I wish a girl in jogging gear would throw a sledgehammer through the Apple Park's cafeteria jumbotron. That might wake them up into innovating again.
Well I did want to start logging some Nike Run Club miles on this Apple watch. I'm still going to need a getaway car, though. You supply that and the sledgehammer and it's a deal! :p

Apple Pay: So much potential, little use.
Don't get me wrong, I love it. It's just that I'm limited to using it at McDonalds, Chic Fil A, Panera's, Penneys, Kohls and a a few other places. It's not at Target. It's not any local grocery stores in my area. They aren't bring a reader to my table at restaurants. I rarely find it on websites.

As an audio and musician guy, i wonder how many "ding" sound they listened and made before they decided to pick this one which you use with Apple Pay.

It's just perfect sound, gentle, stylish and elegant. Not too silent not too loud, it's very satisfying sound.
And in coalition with the perfect vibration

So  Pay basicly works in 1 country out of 10.
I don’t count Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, San Marino and Vatican City.
More than 90 million in german speaking countries can't use it.

Complain to the German banking cartel about it, that's likely were the hickup is, just like it was in Australia until they broke through (and the banks still went to court.. and lost).

The US is a payment mess, still supposedly more than 50% of retail now supports Apple Pay, sometimes they don't even know they do...

The ones you mentioned are correct. Safeway accepts it too (the cashier there didn’t even know they took it)

I’ve found that its NOT accepted at:
Dollar Tree
Frys Electronics
Frys Food (aka Kroger)
Home Depot
Lowes
Target
WalMart (they have their own app with WalMart pay)
Many gas stations (Wouldn’t this eliminate skimmers?)
My local Costco gas station has the NFC readers on their gas pumps now but they’re not turned on yet.

Its accepted at some of those table kiosks at restaurants:
Chilies
Olive Garden
Red Robin

These are just some of the places I’ve tried it.

I don’t understand why Apple hasn’t pushed this more?

AWESOME!

Bluey Robinson a VERY VERY VERY Talented young cat that just doesn't get enough credit! Finally in a great commerical and I pray his career really launches. Unlike so many pop kids in the last 10 years Bluey TRUELY has that Soulful voice ... I'm not just talking Michael Jackson sweet I'm talking ...

Four Tops,
Temptations,
Stevie Wonder (his favourite artist)
and all the other greats of Motown (even as sweet as Smokey Robinson).

This commercial makes it way too easy to spend money...

LOL ... don't you know Apple already? lol.

Its been that way for Apple since those posh days with Starbucks partnerships making it to uber upperclass clique. Apple Pay is successful BECAUSE it's so easy to spend money.

I guess you couldn't sense the sarcasm in my whole statement

As you can see from another member‘s response to your post, they didn’t gather your sarcasm either. On a tech site, not everybody knows you’re being sarcastic based off text. As someone else indicated, use the /S for future reference.

I'm not expecting it to be, even if Siri is proven to be the dumbest smart assistant and it kind of sucks. I WOULD expect it to be able to connect to more devices than my iPhone, support Bluetooth, not let anyone else with a voice control it, I'd also expect it to set up Spotify or any other service except Apple Music as default music player and to not leave white marks on my hard wood floor.

Isn't that what ads are for?!

Ever been to a movie?
Jeez...

It's not that interesting. Unlike US cards, EU credit cards already have NFC. Only the Americans find it amazing that they can tap their phones instead of swiping. I have witnessed maybe 1 person here in Canada use Apple pay. Everyone else just taps their cards.

That’s total nonsense, I personally know a bunch of people in Canada that use it. It’s usually easier to use my phone than to grab my wallet.

" Called "Fly Market"

Looks more like the Marty McFly Market.

God those new apple adds are really bad, like REALLY BAAAAD

Microsoft used to be the King of Sh*tty Product-commercials. Everyone remember them 'flying in the air' over Windows XP more than a decade ago? Seems Apple has taken the crown away from Microsoft marketing this past year.

From a fashion perspective, I can't stand the styling. They made him look like a Pharell wannabe. I prefer the first ad, it was more down to earth. I found this one to be unremarkable and annoying.

Samsung has had face detection for years now. They are so ahead of the game, so I'm sure Samsung users have been able to unlock apps and use Samsung pay with their face detection technologies? Right??

Haha! Remember that time Android also had NFC first and nobody used it outside Android geeks in a basement?

By the way, Tim Baxter doesn't appreciate your sarcasm and would like a word with you...

The kiosk in the Olive Garden near me advertises Samsung Pay only... but Apple Pay indeed works. Tried it for the hell of it and the payment went through.

So many places do use it, and more coming on board all the time. In many cases, it's simply the store not turning NFC on yet.

I enjoyed the commercial and don’t feel the need to analyze every nuance of it.

Apple products are more enjoyable than ever and I’m going to enjoy them and let others have their fun being the Apple “think tank”.
