If only that was the reality! After using it for 2 years, Siri still doesn't understand what I'm saying half the time. Can't they make it so it learns and adapts over time as it gets to know your voice? I guess not.

Did you ask her to wekemend a good westaurant?

Who the F are these people in the ad????

Admitting one's ignorance in a public place usually doesn't end well. They are both popular actors from very popular shows that apparently you haven't watched. And I'm not using ignorance in a pejorative sense, just that you are unaware of something that many others are aware of.

Actually, it does learn. You may want to re-train it - you can do that by turning off Siri and/or Hey Siri, and enabling them again (it'll start a training process). You'll find more troubleshooting advice in this article https://support.apple.com/HT204389

Siri and iOS dictation features work remarkably well for me, almost seems magical at times. They do work better when I'm in quiet environments, which should not be a surprise - my voice has to be picked out from amidst the other sounds and noise. If you habitually hold your iPhone in a way that blocks the microphone, if it's a substantial distance from your mouth, if you mumble or speak at a very rapid rate...

Maybe I'm at an advantage. I was an recording/broadcast engineer for many years, so getting clean sound into a microphone is second nature to me now; like breathing out and breathing in. I may not be Professor H. Higgins of 27A Wimpole St., London, but I was pretty good at coaxing intelligible performances from amateur announcers/presenters.

As my grandfather was so fond saying, "you need to work on your elocution."

Is that Rosanna Arquette in the ad?

Ad is pretty good, demonstrating that Siri can be used for something serious and also be used for something fun.

Reading comprehension must not be your forte.

You have two apartments?
You probably should just get one; maybe that way you'll be able to (hopefully) move into something with more square footage than what you currently have.
:p

What am I watching ? I wouldn't be interrupted this way ... Siri would have to just wait ..

Wow, I could have sworn when the article was first posted the names weren't there, I scanned it several times. I guess I was super tired. Mea Culpa!!!

Thanks, I'll give those a try. I don't have a heavy accent so maybe it's just me. I mainly use Siri with my iPhone on the desk next to me so I don't have to pick it up to make a call.

One area I really struggle with is things like new reminders and notes. I will get half way through a sentance and Siri stops and takes what I've said so far as the finished text. It's such a pain it's actually quicker to type it in instead. Hope these tips help with that.

Man that's a long ad that doesn't really make me want to buy the new Apple TV. Is that was it's meant to do?

I wonder what a non Apple fan would think of that ad? We are all too engrossed into this ecosystem and way of life to be unbiased!
