I am super impressed with this video on so many levels, this would have been impossible to shoot on a phone just a year ago.

1. The macros were so essential to the story. Every grain of chicken rice were so well define, the cut and texture of the chicken captured in all its delectable goodness, the viscousness of the gravy, the drizzle of dark soy sauce, the splashes of tangy chilli sauce, cumulating in a symphony of umami-iciousness that frankly causes my mouth to water.

2. Rack focus with realistic bokeh, I watched the video a couple of times just because this feature was used so purposively as a tool for telling the story. Especially impressive considering the space constraint within a hawker's stall.

3. Great choreography, love the panning and zooming to create a sense of dynamics, purposeful background build up to the current rivalry, absolutely love the story telling which was further enhance by the brilliant sound score. Above all I love the bona fide feel of chicken rice in a Singapore hawker centre. From the chicken ice bath, cooking of rice, slicing and dicing of garnishes, chopping of chicken, plating of dish and finally delivery on a typical hawker centre food tray. Absolutely authentic. Also love that the video sticks with colours that accurately depict hawker life instead of going with a cinematic lux.

9 out of 10 for me, only draw back is the slight jitters in certain scene, during panning and zooming. Wondering if this could have been fix by shooting in a higher FPS and converting into slow-mo during post in FCP.

Even with all the thousands of dollars in additional hardware and post-processing used, this isn’t that impressive. The frame rate in this video is terrible. So jittery!!!

That’s false.

White rice is a simple-clean carb and it’s not bad for you. (FYI..Too much of anything is ‘bad for you’.)

When you look at rice in general, it’s a carbohydrate, and almost all carbohydrates primarily are assimilated in your body/broken down into sugars. Small amounts of rice is virtually harmless, large amounts of it (Any thing over a cup), wouldn’t be recommended. Again, too much of anything for you is not good.
I should say, it's a shame it's bad for me. I have a no sugar, no grain way of eating. It's helped me get to my normal weight (170), brought my blood pressure down to normal levels and my bloodwork says I'm healthy. I really do miss rice, though.
