Apple Shares 'Ted Lasso' Season 4 Trailer

Apple today shared the full-length trailer for season four of its hit series Ted Lasso, ahead of the season premiere on Wednesday, August 5. Following the premiere, one new episode will be released every Wednesday through October 7.

Ted Lasso is one of the most popular shows ever released on the Apple TV streaming service. The eponymous character Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, starts off as a small-time football coach from Kansas who is hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.

In the fourth season, Apple said Lasso returns to England to take on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's soccer team.

"Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would," said Apple.

Fan favorites such as Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift are all set to return in the fourth season.

The third season of Ted Lasso was released in 2023, so there has been a long wait for a fourth season. The series has won several major awards since it debuted in 2020, with its overall positive tone making it a popular comfort show.

I mean, sure if you take everything so seriously everything kind of sucks, but Ted Lasso is as fun of a show as it gets IMO.

I wholeheartedly agree. The first season was fresh, original, and genuinely interesting. But, as so often happens in Hollywood, they couldn’t handle its success. Season 2 was a complete letdown. I tapped out after that unbearably cheesy Christmas special. 🤮

Yeah, I'm done. Maybe I took offense being an Everton fan losing to the team back in season...2?, but the writing I find to be cringe, and got worse in Season 3. Hold out for Plurbius people.

I just rewatched the series to get ready for season 4. Still not sure if this is necessary but we’ll see what happens. Liked the last scene talking about “football is life”.

I do think the third season got a little bit lost in the sauce, but I’m very happy to see the show return.
I don’t really understand the hate, but also I’m not really the biggest fan of modern television’s obsession with “how dark, brutal, and shocking can a show be”, “how grim and nihilistic and joyless can we make a show”, and “how long, tedious, boring, and movie like can we make a show”?
I still think there is a place in this world for 30 minute feel good comedies, and at least the first season of Ted Lasso hearkened back to that, with a little bit of the more serialized and darker elements of modern TV thrown in every once in a while.
I feel like too much of modern television is filled up with euphoria, 13 reasons why, just endless endless blood and gore and suicide and abuse. not that everything has to be happy all the time, but television is supposed to be an escape from the darkness of the real world and… Lately, sometimes it does not feel like it.

I'll give it a shot. Season 1 really was the feel good show the world needed. Season 2 was pretty blah, but the second half of 3 kinda redeemed it enough for me to want a bit more of the characters...however it ended well and probably should have stayed that way...milk it though.

Thought Season 1 was brilliant, but they lost me during Season 2 and didn’t make it through. Felt like they were trying too many different things with characters and seeing what stuck. Strayed too much from the winning formula. Had no interest in watching Season 3, the supposed final season, as I was already pretty turned off by that point.

I’m with you for the most part, I really like season one, and I didn’t think season two was really that bad. A lot of the story progression felt very natural.
But season three was an absolute roller coaster, you’d have an absolutely excellent episode followed by a depressing dirge that really made absolutely no sense in the story.
Especially with Roy and Jamie, they spent 2 1/2 seasons building these characters up into better people, only to spend the last two episodes making them both pathetic.
Really hoping the new season allows them to redeem some of the characters.
I will say that this is one of those shows that seems to have the big problem with a lot of streaming shows, an absolutely excellent top tier first season that just blows expectations out of the water, and then has an extremely difficult time trying to recapture the magic.
kind of the opposite problem of a lot of old network shows that struggled in their first season and then really hit their stride in season two, three, and four.
