Apple today announced that its hit comedy-drama series "Ted Lasso" is returning for a fourth season with a first episode on Wednesday, August 5. One new episode will follow every Wednesday thereafter through October 7.

"Ted Lasso" is one of the most popular shows ever released on the Apple TV streaming service. The eponymous character Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, starts off as a small-time football coach from Kansas who is hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.

In the fourth season, Apple says Lasso returns to England to take on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's soccer team.

"Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would," said Apple.

Apple has shared a teaser trailer for the new season.

Fan favorites such as Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift are all set to return in the fourth season.

The third season of "Ted Lasso" was released in 2023, so there has been a long wait for a fourth season. The series has won several major awards since it debuted in 2020, with its overall positive tone making it a popular comfort show.

For the life of me I don't understand why people like this show. I barely made it through half of the first episode and never went back.

The first episode makes it feel like the entire show is going to be a parody or joke, but it actually has a good story with a ton of heart. You will laugh and cry at times 🙂

Great show. My wife was a fan and suggested I watch it. I did and loved it. People tend to forget... the show wrapped and was brought back due to demand. I recall it being one of, it not the most popular shows on Apple TV at some point. I encourage everyone to give it a try!

Reminder: Ted Lasso concluded its intended three-season arc with the season 3 finale in May 2023, which saw Ted return home to Kansas. However, a fourth season was officially confirmed to be in development in 2025, driven by intense fan demand and the cast's willingness to return, despite the original, planned ending of the series.

No need to analyze everything in life. If you don't like it then great. When people say "I don't understand why..." it is easy. We don't all the like same things. I had someone I know say the same thing about Breaking Bad. My guess is everyone isn't going to like that show or any show... but how someone could stop half way through Breaking Bad episode 1 and say it sucks... my response was well you need to get through a few episodes IMHO.

Cheerio!

I've watched this a bit with family when I visit and it's fun for awhile.

I'm not sure yet another season of it is needed.

It's a little bit of shtick show, which wears out its welcome after several years.

S1 was good, 2 was OK, 3 was absolutely terrible

Sadly, this is how I mostly feel about For All Mankind also, a show I really loved S1/S2 of.

I'm going through a rewatch now and S1 is great, S2 is very good, and for me it goes downhill from S3 on.

I wish it had been more creative and optimistic and hopeful.

Once it turned into shooting guns and capitalism in space it lost all the hopeful imagination I loved from old Star Trek from 25+ years ago.

I feel like the third season was ten years ago and my first thought was, "Wow! They look great!" A bright spot during sh*tty, sh*tty times comes back to be a bright spot during sh*tty, sh*tty times. Can't wait.

I still get the the feeling RDM is going to, and the end of the final episode have them found the MCRN and make it a direct prequel to The Expanse in all but name. It certainly feels that way.

Would you have “Romeo and Juliet 2” or “Hamlet 2”?.
This story, characters and emotional involvement were guided to end in season 3.
New season is just over milking the cow. Sorry. I watched the series but will not watch a so called season 4, which is not a new season but basically a spin-off.
