Apple today shared the official trailer for its Apple TV+ docuseries "Dear..." that profiles famous people through letters sent to them by people whose lives the celebrities have touched.

The 10-episode series will feature stars that include Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Yara Shahidi, Stevie Wonder, Aly Raisman, Misty Copeland, Big Bird, and more.

"Dear..." was inspired by Apple's "Dear Apple" marketing campaign, in which Apple Watch users read letters sharing how the device has changed their lives.
Inspired by Apple's groundbreaking "Dear Apple" ad for the Apple Watch, Dear... is an inventive approach to biographies of the influential people who are shaping culture and society today using letters that fans have written to them. Dear... focuses on key moments from subjects' lives and their work that has profoundly impacted not only the individuals who have written letters, but the world at large.
Apple says that all 10 episodes of the series will debut on Friday, June 5 and will be available to Apple TV+ subscribers.

So when is Apple going to start using their new foray into entertainment to actually produce content that is....entertaining? I have already had enough of the leftist-centric self aggrandizing, I cannot imagine I am the only one.
I agree that they do skew in the direction you said, but I have only noticed it in "Dear...," the Oprah shows, Visible, and (very very slightly) in Little America so far. I have been very appreciative of Apple for their opinions out of most of their shows. Defending Jacob, Trying, Mythic Quest, For All Mankind, The Morning Show, See, Home Before Dark, Home, and Truth be Told were all very good and didn't contain any subliminal Apple opinions.

I too appreciated the representation in Mythic Quest (see Jessie Ennis' Joe), though there was some self-parody to her character.

This is Disney+ levels of cringe to me. Disney has more new "shows" right now self-congratulating themselves than they do new content. Fortunately most of Apple's content is genuinely interesting, but this isn't it. At least not to me.

Not the kind of content that can convince anyone with their free subscription to continue subscribing. I unsubscribed from my free subscription the day after I got it!
I'm sorry, but that's just stupid.

This is why I don't subscribe to Apple TV. I'm sure this series has nice moments and all, but it seems like celebrity propaganda overall. And I think everyone in the world already knows that Oprah has helped a lot of people.

Disney+ is good for kids -- reruns of High School Musical, Hanna Montana and the like. For older people, The Mandalorian and a lot of the movies are pretty good. Still, Disney+ is not a must-have. I prefer Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

This show is not representative of Apple TV+, at least not for the majority of its shows.

Disney + is outdoing expectations in subscriber count, so you can’t fault their strategy.

I like celebrities and think they have a right to their political views and to express those views in a public manner. I happen to agree with a lot of their views...

… but this kind of hero worship program sounds absolutely horrible.

I couldn't agree more. I'm still waiting for Apple to woo and entice us to keep our Apple TV+ subscription once my free year expires in November. Stuff like this does not help.

This 100%, I’m not really interested in having political views shoved down my throat at every opportunity. I was pumped about the beastie boys thing that was seemingly out of left field until I remembered ad-rock is a hardcore feminist now (and incidentally co produced other Apple TV shows). Ugh. Can’t they just make good content instead of trying to push an agenda.
