Apple today shared the first trailer for "Long Way Up," an upcoming motorcycle series produced by and starring Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.

The series follows McGregor and Boorman as they ride through Latin American countries that include Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Mexico. The duo will cover 13,000 miles over the course of 100 days, exploring the "glorious and underexposed" landscapes of South and Central America.
Covering 13,000 miles over 100 days through 16 border crossings and 13 countries, starting from the city of Ushuaia at the tip of South America, Ewan and Charley journey through the glorious and underexposed landscapes of South and Central America in their most challenging expedition to date, using cutting-edge technology on the backs of their prototype electric Harley-Davidsons in order to contribute to the sustainability of the planet.

The new series will follow Ewan and Charley as they journey through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and up through Colombia, Central America and Mexico. Also joining them are their longtime collaborators, directors David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, following them in their electric Rivians.
"Long Way Up" is a sequel to McGregor and Boorman's prior motorcycle shows, "Long Way Round" and "Long Way Down," which aired on British networks Sky One and BBC Two respectively in the mid 2000s.

The first three episodes of "Long Way Up" are set to premiere on Friday, September 18, with new episodes coming out each week after that.

I CANNOT wait for this to release!! This was one of my most anticipated series once I found Apple bought the rights to it and this trailer ratchets my hype level even higher. I really enjoyed Rogue Trip on Disney+ and enjoy exciting travelogues in general. South America is gorgeous and I can't wait to tour it with Ewan McGregor.

Totally will watch this! Might need to re-watch the other ones too, hmm; after seeing that trailer I feel like I want to.

Every few months I’ll rewatch both Around and Down to get motivated to do some longer rides. Looking forward to watching this but was a little disappointed with the Harley choice. I am looking for ward to seing if they show much about the Riven truck as that I find very interesting.
maybe Apple will pick up and add the other two series to its lineup. I would make it easier to watch on the road.

I rode a motorcycle through Vietnam, a thousand miles from south to north....what an incredible experience. In my opinion, it's the best way to connect with the locals, and to see the sights most tourists don't see. I was in remote areas where, based on the reactions of the locals, I don't think they've seen a western person before.

I've had my sights on South America for a while, this series looks great and I look forward to seeing it.

Also, might be worth noting before Vietnam I'd never been on a motorcycle before, and Vietnam is the statistically the most dangerous country to ride a motorcycle. I got a 10 minute crash course lesson how to ride/operate a motorcycle, then plunged myself into Saigon...an absolute melee.

... but was a little disappointed with the Harley choice.

Yeah I thought about this... but it is ultimately up to marketing budget right... and Harley is trying to re-invent themselves for new generation of riders. I think that's totally OK, and what's more - will probably provide some extra entertainment (I mean if you took the current generation BMW GS or the like, it would not really be that exciting, would it).

Agree this is the first thing on Apple TV that I actully want to watch having enjoyed the previous editions. Also have an interest in electic vehicles so will be intresting to see how the Harley-Davidson Livewire motorbike and Rivian trucks cope with the sometimes not so hospital roads and climate.

The official range of the Livewire is 146mi. Realistically, probably more like 100mi. So their trip will require 130 "fill ups". They must be using those Rivian trucks to charge the Harleys - I imagine there are quite a few stages with no chargers available.

Apple bought the rights to all three series and will undoubtedly be adding the other two series somewhere down the road.

great nice to know. I travel for a living and it’s usually a great series to re watch while sitting in a hotel somewhere when I can’t get out and explore.

Very true, I guess this would be the one Harley that I might actually not mind since I wouldn’t have to listen to the awful noice it makes. Sorry to those I might offend with that statement.
I guess im just biased and love my 1200ADV.

This looks brilliant and hopefully a great advert for electric motorbikes and trucks 👍🏻🙂

Awesome. I’ve seen the others in the series and they were all great. Really looking forward to this one. Good score for Apple. 🏍 👍🏼

Met Ewan a couple of times as we both come from the same place, great guy. Loved the two other series they did.

Also planning on making the Rivian R1S my next car so this is doubly exciting. First actual series that's interested me on Apple TV+.
