As pointed out in another, quite older thread (three years or hours ago), Apple should buy the world.

But I would be satisfied with a small country I suppose.

Apple should buy NASA so they can build a 4G network on the moon and start Moogle, a search engine that searches for everything about the moon!

Why should Apple buy all of the companies?

They should make very strategic acquisitions that enhance their business model
Not just blow money because they have cash burning a whole in their pocket

I am glad the Apple Board is running Apple and not the MacRumors board

Great idea on Apple buying Google.
This way, you would have to buy a map from Apple every time you wanted to go somewhere, or buy the Google Map App from the App Store, or buy the Google Search App, etc. Apple is more greedy than Microsoft now...... It makes sense to buy Google, and Adobe, and.....

No no no,

Your all thinking so small.

AAPL should buy the Universe.

I mean, it's accelerating at a geometrical rate, will do so for the foreseeable future (hopefully !)

And once it does stop... well, it's not as if it really gonna matter

I assumed this thread was ripping into DaveSW for his high number of threads suggesting Apple should be buying or building anything and everything in existence (A 4g network, Yahoo, Adobe )

Evidence? In what way is Google trying to be like Apple? They don't even sell hardware! They're entirely different companies going after (for the most part) completely different markets.

Not "entirely", but close enough. ...and yes, unless you live under a rock, Google does sell hardware. They don't make it, like Apple does, but they do try and hawk a handset now and then.

The point isn't even worth arguing given it makes so little sense, but.. Apple shouldn't buy Google because it is not close enough to their core business. The two companies compete in a few select markets, but Google is a predominantly a search company and Apple is a software company. They compete for browsers (not a money market) they compete for desktop OS, they compete for mobile software and now they're competing with handsets. They do not compete in each other's core market.

Apple has multiple revenue streams (hardware, software, mobile), Google for the most part has only one (search). With ad revenue not booming like it was, Google's growth will (already is) slow; Apple's is still accelerating.

GOOG is in big trouble because their 1 profit stream is not sustainable. Heck, even MSFT has 2 huge profit streams and a number of smaller ones. GOOG is set to implode any moment.
