Oh, oops.

I though they just included an adapter. Well that's good. I've been thinking about this, and at fist I hated the idea, but now i'm thinking it's not so bad, after all. Time will tell. (I need a new phone :D )

( I need to delete this stupid thread.) What else is new :D

Mods..... help me :)

The wireless ones.

And yes they should of included the wireless ones

No. Because if they had provided the Airpods,
That means the price of the iPhone would have increased as well. The Airpods should be sold as a separate accessory, being not every customer is interested in them or preferring the wired EarPods.

And I am interested in the Airpods when they release.

(should've or should have)

They're expensive enough I don't think that would be prudent. Additionally, if they were offered 'for free' as part of the phone, people wouldn't necessarily treat them as careful as they might otherwise, be more prone to lose one (or both) of them, and then get hit with sticker shock when they go to replace one of those 'free thingies' that came in the box.

Given the change, this is easy to misunderstand. All new iPhone 7/7plus owners received the wired basics. Now, should Apple have provided wireless headphones since that's their push for the future? That's a question that is open to debate. I think yes. If they wanted to change the world from wired to wireless headphones, I think Apple could have led the way. Instead, we get a future the is all about Apple profit, not users. FYI, I'm still happy enough with my zippy new iPhone 7 and unused lightning headphones. But I am determined to not give Apple anymore cash, this round. Hello jlab epic2 headphones!

Apple's success rides on high profit margins. Apple increased the plus model's price by $20.00 this year just to keep the cost the same (maintain margin) because of the 2nd camera. I highly doubt they were going to throw in $150.00 wireless air pods for free even if the cost to make them was $10 to $20.

People seem to think Apple is going to release some special 10 year Anniversary iPhone next year full of features. That is not going to happen for the same reason (margins).

The funny thing about this thread is that even though its premise is incorrect, it isn't any worse than many of the articles that have been written about the iPhone 7. I read a piece in Fortune that actually asserted there is no way to use the iPhone 7 with wired headphones. It later mentioned the included adapter, meaning that the article itself was internally inconsistent, but it never mentioned that Apple included wired headphones just as they always have. I mentioned to my in-laws that I had place an order for the 7 and "the lack of headphones" was the first thing they asked about. Based on what they had read/heard, they were quite surprised to learn the 7 comes with wired headphones.
