My iPhone 13 Mini, in an Apple Silicon case, slipped out of my hand in the garage yesterday and fell from waist height to the concrete floor. My screen protector was shattered, and the case itself took on some damage. There's even a TINY little ding on the phone frame itself (which really pisses me off—I've never had any damage to any of my 7 previous iPhones going back to the 3G).

Fortunately I got this case on ebay for 50% less than Apple's prices. But with this damage, is the case still structurally stable? If it couldn't protect the phone when it was fully intact, I'm not sure how much I trust it anymore with slight damage. Plus, who wants to stare at this every time I take my phone out?

In the meantime, it's back to the Sheath.

But with this damage, is the case still structurally stable?

Umm it's not a suspension bridge. It's just a nick. The Apple silicone cases are pretty good at protection for how thin they are. If you want rugged protection get an Otterbox. I say that even though I've broken two phones in an Otterbox and knock on wood none with my Apple case. With drop protection there is more than just a thick layer of plastic involved. It has to reduce shock because even though the case can shield the impact the shock can shatter the glass.

Is my Apple silicone case still structurally stable? 🤣
